1. Return her camels which denied the others,

6. And would spend the night obeying my hands and spend the night embracing
The deer adorned and fettered from it,

7. O Lord what my work with the embers of youth
That increase with tears the most inflamed,

8. And a deer that the veil concealed its rays
From me so it became blacker than red,

9. That assassinates the prides of men with glances
That became for it sharp teeth and one-eyed,

10. A virgin who in worship of her cheek became blind
My sight but with tears sees,

11. Her sight surrendered the others and to my sight
She only surrendered clouds that rain,

12. O God, O one whose breast is like marble
Relieve me so my life ceases being bitter from your estrangement,

13. Do not praise the bitter patience were it not for one
Who tasted blows and came to love sugar,

14. And describe to him from the meadow of your cheek a
Red rose that carries from your sweet smelling moisture ambergris,

15. It is the one that if the image of her imagination returned
The blind dead would return alive and seeing,

16. So why does your heart not soften to a lover
Whose ardency softened even the stones and cracked them,

17. Is all gentleness of dispositions her heart
Harsh, repelling the pillows like a little castle,

26. In generosity, glorious fame, munificence,
Eloquence, piety and brilliant mind,

27. It is he by whose aid the people of Syria would have drunk
Bitters and the unjust if not for his help,

28. And wisdom which inhabited their homes would have perished
And come to not be bought,

29. The days the rich and poor of it
Suffered seeking the fires of the villages,

30. And the widows of the quarters only given to them
Is supplication from the cities and villages,

31. And people averse to war and its provision
And most hearts in despair and failed hopes,

32. And the brave one who made fleeing his steed
And escaped saying the hunt is in the stomach of escape,

33. And the shirt of every warrior and hero
That was sized by training only from behind,

34. And wealth hoarded by those who entrusted
In hoarding it to return a hoarded intoxicant,

35. Blossoming and thriving in cups as if it
Were the flushed cheek of a bride perfumed,

36. God is Great! How many I saw of a horseman
A bridled horse walking backwards,

37. And homes whose doors were not closed
Except to turn away an unfamiliar beggar,

38. Except the refuge of the brave Abdel Qader the son
Of the brave Muhieddin long lived,

39. The granter of thousands innocently
And challenger of thousands in death bloodily,

40. And sustainer of the life of the people of Kinanah and doubt
Whitening the horizons with a living green,

41. It is he at whose door we complained
For sustenance, rubies, and fragrant musk,

42. It is he whose times and gifts
Are for war, devotion, and the villages,

43. The most prudent lineage and finest origin
And most beneficent and best appearing,

44. And mightiest neighbor and firmest protector
And most fiery and highest ancestry,

45. More chaste than snow, purer than dust
Beneath the sky, and dutiful above the ground,

46. Bestowing drinks humbled from Hatem
And his aid looks down on life and seas,

47. And considers the eras of time but I have not wanted
A servant to some of his servants Alexander,

48. War itself has selves dearer than the first musk of nations
And embracing the others to him,

49. The steed's back rises over it and when
He rises over the ladder he rises highly,

50. Delighted and most delightful are the delegations in his munificence
I reckoned munificence has become intoxicating,

51. Until their faces whiten before him
I was certain his aid gives drink from the Heavenly Fountain,

52. So honor through him a king when he grows great
Leaving the skulls for ossuaries strewed,

53. And when the confidant relates his tale
His hand that cast jewels upon him,

54. Join prayer with connections with a Grecian cloak
And trusted so the money spilled its knots,

55. And called the delegations so I became happier than one who attained
And harvested fruits of his munificence with gratitude,

56. So blessed is God who made munificence
Through his hands for the two weights a fertile garden,

57. O best of those who prayed, fasted, and grew great
And most revered who took the banner and transcribed,

58. Bounded within banner-bearing is miraculous
Your attributes are too great to be counted and limited,

59. And the incapacity to enumerate your merit is evident
So excuse one who counted the stars and fell short,

60. I swear by your prominence no oath-breaker is one swearing
By God that you are the best creature to be seen,

61. So if any human claimed and swore that he
Matched you in the field of munificence he blasphemed,

62. Showing the fasting leaving its reward for you
And the feast arriving with glad tidings heralded,

63. So break fast and break fast from the bitterness of my envy
By accepting my abundant poetry,

64. And submit to the dispersed virtues all-embracer
And for each feast that came make a feast illuminated,

65. May God conclude with the prominence of the Seal of Messengers
For you with accord and extend your life the ages of creation,
