3. Glorious is the All-Capable Creator,
The All-Knowing, All-Seeing over His creation.

5. His kindness and grace have overwhelmed us,
Too mighty to be matched.

6. Eyes cannot attain Him,
Nor can minds and conjectures comprehend Him.

7. Yet the mind's knowledge of Him is more proven
Than sensory knowledge of Him.

8. So praise be to God for His blessings,
Abundant praise for His miracles.

9. After praising God and glorifying Him,
And thanking the Originator and Restorer,

10. I say, in the days of the best of people,
He who adorned himself with dew and outfit,

11. Who destroyed disbelief and hypocrisy,
And scattered discord and strife,

12. While we were in deep darkness like night,
And in strife like the torrents of floods,

13. Until the worshipper of the Merciful took over,
That most honorable of the Marwanids,

ูˆุดูŽุฑู‘ูŽุฏ ุงู„ูุชู’ู†ุฉ ูˆุงู„ุดู‘ูู‚ุงู‚ุง

14. Aided, who unsheathed his sword for his authority,
From which death flows from its edges.

ูˆูุชู†ุฉู ู…ุซู„ู ุบูุซุงุกู ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽูŠู„ู

15. And paired the kingdom with the crescent,
So they both became brilliantly beautiful.

16. He assumed God-consciousness upon his forehead,
And the religion and world upon his right hand.

17. His light radiated in the lands,
And incitement and corruption ceased.

18. Meanwhile hypocrisy spread,
And betrayal by the wicked and dissenters intensified.

ูˆุงู„ุฏูŠู†ูŽ ูˆุงู„ุฏู‘ูู†ูŠุง ุนู„ู‰ ูŠู…ูŠู†ู‡ู

19. The land narrowed for its inhabitants,
And the wars ignited their fierce fires.

20. While we were in pitch black darkness,
And in gloom unlike any gloom,

21. Wherein the battle cry would take us everyday,
So no eye delighted in sleep.

ูˆุฃุฐู’ูƒุชู ุงู„ุญุฑุจู ู„ุธูŽู‰ ู†ูŠุฑุงู†ูู‡ุง

22. We prayed the Eid prayers vigilantly,
Fearing the raging enemy.

ูˆุธูู„ู…ุฉู ู…ุง ู…ุซู„ูู‡ุง ู…ูู† ุธูู„ู…ู‡ู’

23. Until the aid came from the light,
Encompassing the earth and the sky.

ูู…ุง ุชูŽู„ุฐู‘ู ู…ูู‚ู’ู„ุฉูŒ ุจู†ูŽูˆู’ู…ู

24. The Caliph of God whom He chose,
Over all creation and specially selected,

ู…ุฎุงูุฉู‹ ู…ู† ุงู„ุนุฏูˆู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุซุงุฆูุฑู

25. From the essence of revelation and the home of wisdom,
The best of those attributed to the Imams.

ูขูฅ. ุญุชู‰ ุฃุชุงู†ุง ุงู„ุบูˆุซู ู…ู† ุถููŠุงุกู
ุทูŽุจู‘ูŽู‚ูŽ ุจูŠู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฑู’ุถู ูˆุงู„ุณู…ุงุกู

26. Clouds are too shy to match his generosity,
And eyes are too humble to gaze at his munificence.

ูขูฆ. ุฎูŽู„ูŠูุฉู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ุงุตุทูุงู‡ู
ุนู„ู‰ ุฌู…ูŠุน ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ู‚ู ูˆุงุฌู’ุชุจุงู‡ู

27. In his face is the proof of his light,
To kiss his palm is an offering.

ูขูง. ู…ู† ู…ูŽุนุฏู†ู ุงู„ูˆุญูŠู ูˆุจูŽูŠู’ุชู ุงู„ุญูƒู…ูŽู‡ู’
ูˆุฎูŠู’ุฑู ู…ู†ุณูˆุจู ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฃุฆู…ู‘ูŽู‡ู’

28. He revived the dead virtues,
From the era of Hatim and days of Kaโ€˜b.

ูขูจ. ุชูŽูƒูู„ู‘ู ุนู† ู…ูŽุนุฑูˆูู‡ู ุงู„ุฌู†ุงุฆุจู
ูˆุชูŽุณู’ุชุญูŠ ู…ู† ุฌููˆุฏู‡ ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽุญุงุฆุจู

29. Virtues beyond description,
And chivalry that dazzles the eyes.

ูขูฉ. ููŠ ูˆุฌู‡ู‡ู ู…ู† ู†ููˆุฑู‡ู ุจุฑู‡ุงู†ู
ูˆูƒูู‘ูู‡ ุชู‚ู’ุจูŠู„ูู‡ุง ู‚ูุฑู’ุจุงู†ู

30. And qualities like swift lightning,
Or like water, and aspirations reaching the sky.

ูฃู . ุฃูŽุญู’ูŠุง ุงู„ู‘ุฐูŠ ู…ุงุชูŽ ู…ู†ูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽูƒุงุฑูู…ู
ู…ู† ุนูŽู‡ุฏู ูƒุนู’ุจู ูˆุฒู…ุงู†ู ุญุงุชูู…ู

31. Look at the lofty structure he built,
Showing wonders of his great stature.

ูฃูก. ู…ูŽูƒุงุฑู…ูŒ ูŠูŽู‚ุตูุฑู ุนู†ู‡ุง ุงู„ูˆูŽุตู’ูู
ูˆุบูุฑู‘ูŽุฉูŒ ูŠูŽุญู’ุณุฑู ุนู†ู‡ุง ุงู„ุทู‘ูŽุฑูู

32. If the sea were to run dry by his handsโ€™ generosity,
Were his magnanimity to head to it,

ูฃูข. ูˆุดููŠู…ุฉูŒ ูƒุงู„ุตู‘ูŽุงุจู ุฃูŽูˆ ูƒุงู„ู…ุงุกู
ูˆู‡ูู…ู‘ูŽุฉูŒ ุชุฑู‚ูŽู‰ ุฅูู„ู‰ ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽู…ุงุกู

33. It would boil or nearly boil over,
And then be too shy to overflow after.

ูฃูฃ. ูˆุงู†ุธุฑู’ ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฑููŠุนู ู…ู† ุจูู†ูŠุงู†ูู‡ู
ูŠูุฑูŠูƒูŽ ุจูุฏู’ุนุงู‹ ู…ู† ุนูŽุธูŠู… ุดูŽุงู†ูู‡ู

34. He who has given generously and been most generous,
And opened up the world after having folded it,

ูฃูค. ู„ูˆ ุฎุงูŠู„ ุงู„ุจุญุฑู ู†ูŽุฏูŽู‰ ูŠูŽุฏูŠู‡ู
ุฅุฐุง ู„ุฌูŽุช ุนููุงุชูู‡ู ุฅู„ูŠู‡ู

35. He gathered the nation,
And warded off the dark misfortunes from it.

ูฃูฅ. ู„ุบุงุถูŽ ุฃูŽูˆ ู„ูƒุงุฏูŽ ุฃูŽู† ูŠูŽุบููŠุถุง
ูˆู„ุงุณู’ุชูŽุญู‰ ู…ู† ุจุนุฏู ุฃูŽู†ู’ ูŠูŽููŠุถุง

36. He renewed the weakened kingdom,
Until its pegs steadied and it quenched its thirst.

ูฃูฆ. ู…ูŽู† ุฃูŽุณุจุบูŽ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูุนู…ู‰ ูˆูƒุงู†ุชู’ ู…ูŽุญู’ู‚ูŽุง
ูˆูุชู‘ูŽู‚ ุงู„ุฏู‘ูู†ูŠุง ูˆูƒุงู†ุชู’ ุฑูŽุชู’ู‚ุง

37. He rallied the troops and multitudes,
And amassed the regiments and armies.

ูฃูง. ู‡ูˆ ุงู„ุฐูŠ ุฌู…ู‘ูŽุน ุดูŽู…ู’ู„ูŽ ุงู„ุฃูู…ู‘ูŽู‡ู’
ูˆุฌุงุจูŽ ุนู†ู‡ุง ุฏุงู…ูุณุงุชู ุงู„ุธู‘ูู„ู…ูŽู‡ู’

38. Then he set out with his firm determination
Against that wicked and vile one,

ูฃูจ. ูˆุฌูŽุฏู‘ูŽุฏูŽ ุงู„ู…ูู„ูƒูŽ ุงู„ุฐูŠ ู‚ุฏ ุฃูŽุฎู’ู„ูŽู‚ุง
ุญุชู‰ ุฑูŽุณูŽุช ุฃูŽูˆุชุงุฏูู‡ู ูˆุงุณู’ุชูŽูˆุณู‚ุง

39. Whom God curse, the son of filth,
In whom the pig and lion converged.

ูฃูฉ. ูˆุฌูŽู…ู‘ูŽุนูŽ ุงู„ุนูุฏู‘ูŽุฉูŽ ูˆุงู„ุนูŽุฏููŠุฏุง
ูˆูƒูŽุซู‘ูŽููŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฌู’ู†ุงุฏูŽ ูˆุงู„ุญูุดูˆุฏุง

40. So he went out with his campaign,
His leader being Abu Al-โ€˜Abbas.

ูคู . ุซู… ุงู†ุชุญูŽู‰ ุฌูŽูŠู‘ูŽุงู†ูŽ ููŠ ุบูŽุฒุงุชู‡ู
ุจูุนูŽุณู’ูƒุฑู ูŠูŽุณู’ุนุฑู ู…ูู† ุญูู…ุงุชูู‡ู

41. Until he climbed the peaks of Dhu Ruโ€˜yan,
And marched with his army in its plains.

ูƒุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง ุญูุทู‘ูŽุชู’ ู…ู†ูŽ ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽุญุงุจู

42. Leaving no agriculture or fruits for them,
No sustenance or crops.

ูคูข. ูุฃูŽุฐุนู†ุชู’ ู…ูุฑู‘ูŽุงู‚ูู‡ุง ุณูุฑุงุนูŽุง
ูˆุฃูŽู‚ุจู„ุชู’ ุญูุตูˆู†ูู‡ุง ุชูŽุฏุงุนูŽู‰

43. Cutting down its vineyards and trees,
Without making peace with its notables or backing down.

ูคูฃ. ู„ู…ู‘ูŽุง ุฑู…ุงู‡ุง ุจุณููŠูˆูู ุงู„ุนูŽุฒู’ู…ู
ู…ูŽุดู’ุญูˆุฐุฉู ุนู„ู‰ ุฏูุฑูˆุนู ุงู„ุญูŽุฒู’ู…ู

44. Then he returned after devastating the crops and provisions,
While that dog upon seeing this

ูคูค. ูƒุงุฏุชู’ ู„ู‡ุง ุฃูŽู†ููุณูู‡ูู…ู’ ุชูŽุฌูˆุฏู
ูˆูƒุงุฏุชู ุงู„ุฃูŽุฑุถู ุจู‡ู… ุชูŽู…ูŠุฏู

45. Knew there could be no lasting survival there,
So he wrote to the Imam pledging allegiance,

ูˆุฃูŽุฎู’ุฑูŽุฌุชู’ ู…ู† ุฑูŽู‡ู’ุจุฉู ุฃูŽุซู‚ุงู„ูŽู‡ุง

46. Obedience, and repentance,
And to be his obedient subject,

ูคูฆ. ูุฃูŽู†ุฒู„ูŽ ุงู„ู†ุงุณูŽ ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุจูŽุณูŠุทู
ูˆู‚ูŽุทู‘ูŽุนูŽ ุงู„ุจูŽูŠู’ู†ูŽ ู…ู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ูŠุทู

47. Governing the landโ€™s revenues and taxes.
The Imam chose that,

ูคูง. ูˆุงูุชูŽุชูŽุญูŽ ุงู„ุญูุตูˆู†ูŽ ุญูุตู†ุงู‹ ุญูุตู†ุง
ูˆุฃูŽูˆู’ุณุนูŽ ุงู„ู†ุงุณูŽ ุฌู…ูŠุนุงู‹ ุฃูŽู…ู’ู†ุง

48. And always chose to be gracious.
Then the Imam campaigned the following year,

ูู„ู… ูŠูŽุฏูŽุนู’ ุจุฃูŽุฑู’ุถูู‡ุง ุดูŽูŠุทุงู†ุง

49. Accompanied by victory and divine aid.
Until when he entered deep into enemy territory

ูคูฉ. ูุฃุตุจุญูŽ ุงู„ู†ุงุณู ุฌู…ูŠุนุงู‹ ุฃูู…ู‘ูŽู‡
ู‚ุฏ ุนู‚ูŽุฏ ุงู„ุฅูู„ู‘ูŽ ู„ู‡ู… ูˆุงู„ุฐู‘ูู…ู‘ูŽู‡

50. And God protected him from all evil,
And made them submit to the jizya and penalties,

ูฅู . ุซู… ุงู†ุชูŽุญู‰ ู…ู† ููŽูˆุฑู‡ู ุฅูู„ู’ุจูŠุฑูŽู‡ู’
ูˆู‡ูŠ ุจููƒู„ู‘ูŽ ุขูุฉู ู…ูŽุดู‡ูˆุฑูŽู‡ู’

51. Those who associated with God.
Their legs shook with fear,

ูฅูก. ูุฏุงุณูŽู‡ุง ุจูุฎูŽูŠู„ู‡ู ูˆุฑูŽุฌู’ู„ู‡ู
ุญุชู‰ ุชูŽูˆุทู‘ูŽุง ุฎูŽุฏู‘ูŽู‡ุง ุจูู†ูŽุนู’ู„ู‡ู

52. And they were mustered against the fear of warโ€™s fire.
They rushed into ravines and hiding places,

ูฅูข. ูˆู„ู… ูŠูŽุฏูŽุนู’ ู…ู† ุฌูู†ู‘ูู‡ุง ู…ูŽุฑููŠุฏุง
ุจูู‡ุง ูˆู„ุง ู…ู† ุฅูู†ุณู‡ุง ุนูŽู†ูŠุฏุง

53. Surrendering the citadels and cities.
So no lofty or impregnable fortress remained,

ูฅูฃ. ุฅูู„ุง ูƒูŽุณุงู‡ู ุงู„ุฐู‘ูู„ู‘ูŽ ูˆุงู„ุตู‘ูŽุบุงุฑุง
ูˆุนูŽู…ู‘ูŽู‡ู ูˆุฃูŽู‡ู„ู‡ู ุฏูŽู…ุงุฑุง

54. Whether by the coasts or in the forests and rugged terrain,
Except that he made it submit to the Sultanโ€™s authority,

ูฅูค. ูู…ุง ุฑุฃูŠุชู ู…ุซู„ูŽ ุฐุงูƒูŽ ุงู„ุนุงู…ู
ูˆู…ุซู„ูŽ ุตูู†ุนู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ ู„ู„ุฅูุณู„ุงู…ู

55. Where never had the Sultanโ€™s authority reached before.
Then he turned back with conquest and success,

ูฅูฅ. ูุงู†ุตุฑููŽ ุงู„ุฃู…ูŠุฑู ู…ู† ุบูŽุฒุงุชูู‡ู
ูˆู‚ุฏ ุดูŽูุงู‡ู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ู…ู† ุนูุฏุงุชู‡ู

56. Having changed corruption into righteousness.
And afterwards was the campaign of his country,

ูฅูฆ. ูˆู‚ุจู„ูŽู‡ุง ู…ุง ุฎูŽุถุนุชู’ ูˆุฃุฐุนู†ุชู’
ุฅูุณุชูุฌุฉู ูˆุทุงู„ู…ุง ู‚ุฏ ุตูŽู†ุนุชู’

57. Wherein the people of heresy were destroyed.
It began when the trusted Imam,

ู…ุง ุฃูŽุฐุนู†ุชู’ ู„ู„ุตู‘ูŽุงุฑู…ู ุงู„ุตู‘ูŽู‚ูŠู„ู

58. The most truthful to people in justice and loyalty,
When news of the pigโ€™s death reached him,

64. And violated the agreements and promises.
He turned against the Sultan due to his evil,

Then he marched out with the most numerous army,

Then he went on to seize the citadels,

He secured it with cavalry and infantry,

Then the infantry ascended its walls,

77. The disbeliever submitted to the believer.
Its chieftains were brought shackled for execution,

78. And killed by truth, not injustice.

79. The best of those born and their forefathers.
Then the Imam immediately turned

80. Toward Bushtar, leaving no green twigs in it.
Devastating its buildings and crops,

81. While Bushtarโ€™s inhabitants submitted to the Lord of the Army.
Thereupon he brought in weapons and troops,

82. Without leaving a dissident among them.
Then the Imam campaigned the land of war,

The battle standards and the brave were mobilized to him,

84. All the renowned and eminent ones.
The officials, flag bearers, and troops

85. Affiliated with Syria rallied to him.
And all the sincere volunteers for jihad,

ุนู„ู‰ ุนุฏูˆู‘ู ุงู„ุดู‘ูุฑูƒู ุฃูˆ ุฐูˆูŠู‡ู

86. Or brought together by a saddle for steeds.
It became such a mobilization!

87. As if they were spread out locusts.
Then the Victorious, Aided one set out,

88. With angels before him taking and leaving for their Lord.
Until when God made him prevail over the enemy

ูจูจ. ูˆุงุจู†ู ุฃูŽุจูŠ ุนูŽุจู’ุฏุฉูŽ ู†ุญูˆูŽ ุงู„ุดู‘ูุฑู’ูƒู
ููŠ ุฎูŽูŠู’ุฑู ู…ุง ุชูŽุนุจูŠุฉู ูˆุดูƒู‘ู

89. And the Merciful protected him from all evil.
Making them submit to the jizya and penalties,

ูˆูƒูู„ู‘ู ุซูƒู„ู ู„ู„ุนุฏูˆู‘ู ุซุงูƒู„ู

90. Those who associated with God.
Their feet shook with fear,

91. And they mustered up against the warโ€™s terror.
They rushed into ravines and hiding places,

92. Surrendering the citadels and cities.
So there remained no lofty or impregnable citadel,

93. With a monk or monastery,
Except that he turned it into nothingness,

94. Like fire when it reaches the elders.

95. Due to all the construction within.
So there was no inhabited land,

96. Nor in it one who ignites fire.
They left it in ruins,

97. And turned its meadows into desolation.
Destroying the citadels,

ุฅุฐ ุตุงุฑูŽ ุนู† ู‚ูŽุตู’ุฏู ุงู„ุณุจูŠู„ู ุญุงุฆุฏุง

98. And torching its inhabitants.
So their homes became desolate,

ูฉูจ. ุซูู…ู‘ูŽุชูŽ ุดูŽุฏู‘ูŽ ุฃูŽุฒุฑูŽู‡ู ุจุจูŽุฏู’ุฑู
ููƒุงู†ูŽ ูƒุงู„ุดู‘ูŽูุนู ู„ู‡ุฐุง ุงู„ูˆุชู’ุฑู

99. Where we now see only rising smoke.
The Imam was given victory over his enemy,

Then after that was the campaign of Turush,

103. Besieging it constantly with war.
Until its notables surrendered against their will,

104. And its devil retreated from its desolate abodes.
It submitted to the Master of masters,

105. The Most Generous of the living and dead.

This was toward the coasts and their vicinity,
