1. Tears have etched valleys in their cheeks,
Eyes swollen with abundant weeping.

2. A people promised by their Lord,
So they hastened, fearing His threat.

3. Bowing devotedly in their shrines,
Crying in awe of the Mighty's wrath,

4. Their tears have nearly caused to grow
Grass where their eyes have touched prostrate.
