1. With myself, whose pillow is wine
And whose glances are arrows
١. بنفسي مَن مَراشِفُهُ مُدامُ
ومَن لحظاتُ مُقْلتهِ سهامُ
2. And if the full moon appears
The full moon is hidden by his beauty
٢. ومَن هوَ إنْ بدا والبدْرُ تِمٌّ
خَفِي مِنْ حُسنِهِ البدرُ التَّمامُ
3. I say to him as he shows aloofness
No word comes to me nor a smile
٣. أقولُ له وقد أبدى صُدوداً
فلا لفظٌ إليَّ ولا ابتسامُ
4. Speak, speech will not hurt you
Nor will greetings erase your beauty
٤. تكلَّمْ ليسَ يوجعُكَ الكلامُ
ولا يمحو محاسِنَكَ السَّلامُ
