1. By Him who set the sky in its place
And joined the two seas that meet
١. أَما والَّذي سَوَّى السَّماءَ مكانَها
ومَن مَرجَ البحرينِ يَلتقيانِ
2. And Him who stands in thoughts unseen
More real than what eyes have seen
٢. ومَن قامَ في الأَوْهامِ مِن غيرِ رُؤيةٍ
بأثبتَ مِن إدراكِ كُلِّ عِيانِ
3. Your palms were made for only four:
To clasp another's hand in yours
٣. لمَا خُلقتْ كفّاكَ إلّا لأَربعٍ
عَقائلَ لم يُخْلقْ لهنَّ يَدانِ
4. To seal a lover's lips in bliss
To hold a wine cup and rein a steed
٤. لِتَقبيلِ أَفواهٍ وإِعطاءِ نائلٍ
وتَقليبِ هِنديٍّ وحَبسِ عِنانِ
