1. I have become, by Allah's will, envied
For a short, non-extending life

2. Until I remained, by Allah's grace, behind
As if I were among them in fear and solitude

3. And I never part from anyone
Except I count our parting as the last farewell

4. Look at me when I am shrouded in my coffin
And look at me when I am laid in the grave

5. And sit a little, observing who will stay with me
Of those who walk in my funeral of loved ones

6. Alas, they are all busy with their own affairs
Throwing dust and covering my cheeks
