1. A poet of the age boasts to me
Of the finest ideas that poetry can be
١. وَشاعِرٌ مِن شُعَراءِ الزَمان
يَفخَرُ عِندي بِالمَعاني الحِسان
2. Yet the sweetest of all his works
Is but half of Khorasan or al-Qayrawan
٢. وَإِنَّما أَطيَبُ أَشعارِهِ
نِصفُ خراسانَ أَو القَيرَوان
