You were wise like me but did not live long enough.

57. And you escaped this world wherein
Misfortune piles upon misfortune.

58. How are you now, O branch of delight, O full moon of dusk?
Did they welcome you when the shroud was removed?

59. Did you respond firmly when questioned by them,
Saying: โ€œI testify God is true.โ€

60. โ€œAnd my Prophet Ahmad whom He sent
With guidance - so He chose him over all people.

61. My Imam is the Honorable House, and the Kaaba is
My direction of worship, the bond of faith.โ€

ูฆูก. ู‡ูŽู„ ุชูŽุซูŽุจู‘ูŽุชู‘ูŽ ู…ูุฌูŠุจุงู‹ ู„ูŽู‡ูู…ุง
ู‚ุงุฆูู„ุงู‹ ุฃูŽุดู‡ูŽุฏู ุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽ ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ูŽ ุญูŽู‚

62. If your father the scholar intercedes for you,
God will forgive his sins, so intercede!

63. May God cool my heart whenever
It burns from remembering you.

64. And may His mercy water your grave
As much as the leaves have dripped upon the grass.

65. My bereavement has burnt my eyelids with weeping -
When will patience mend what has torn?

66. I hid my love at first, so it was hidden,
Then I tried to calm my heart, but it fluttered!

67. Ask the doves of Ik - do I weep for a fever?
And the lightning of caves - do I weep for its flashes?

ูฆูง. ูŠุง ุฃูŽุฎุง ุงู„ุฏูู†ูŠุง ุงูุนุชูŽุจูุฑ ู‡ูŽู„ ู„ูŽูƒูŽ ู…ูู†
ู…ูู„ูƒูู‡ุง ุบูŽูŠุฑ ุญู†ูˆุทู ูˆูŽุฎุฑู‚

68. I only weep for a great calamity
That has surpassed all calamities in my view.

69. For if not for grieving my son, I could endure
Every burden that cannot be endured.

70. If you could see the clouds when they have favored me
With weeping at the time of sunset...

71. One passed away young like him - no sins were decreed,
So he escaped wrongdoings and uncertainties.

72. He succeeded, having died young before
Being called corrupt or deviant.

ุญุฏุซุงู†ู ุงู„ุฏูŽู‡ุฑู ู†ูŽุญุณุงู‹ ูˆูŽุฑูŽู‡ูŽู‚

73. But woe to an elderly man or youth
If he desires adultery or tells lies!

ุฃูŽู†ุชูŽ ูˆูŽุงู„ุฐูŽุฑู‘ู ูˆูŽุนูˆุฌู ุงูุจู†ู ุนูŽู†ู‚

74. He took the easy path while we took the harder one,
So he finished first while we lagged behind.

75. I will soon follow you, O servant of the Almighty,
And join you tomorrow in the afterlife!

76. It pains me to pass by a grave containing you -
If only my side could touch your side!

77. May God gladden the heart of one aggrieved, if
His sin has caused him misery on the most wretched day.
