1. A sudden calamity befell Abdal Ghani
It poured upon him affection and compassion
١. حلَّت بِعَبدِ الغنيّ طارِقَةٌ
دَرَّت عَلَيهِ الحَنان وَالشَفَقا
2. His paleness and blushing became gold
Neither the radiant full moon nor the glowing sunset
٢. بَياضُهُ وَاِحمِرارُهُ ذَهَبا
لا البَدرُ زاهي الضِيا وَلا الشَفَقا
