If a servant lives long, he will be replaced,

You were the adornment of the days, then you turned away,

You were a star, feared by the preceded moon,

13. And a cub, feared by the fully grown lions.
My hopes nested in you, so they nested,

14. And after you, hopes nested.
O son of one who terrified the regions,

15. So the pens stabbed with stabbing, and the palms wrote.
If you had lingered four or three years,

16. The Resurrector would have risen for you from His throne.
Lightning snatched news of your decree,

17. And thunder proclaimed your destiny.
Except that souls within us are defective,

18. So they are defective, clothed in bodies.
How many ambitions did the ambitions lead

19. That did not avail their masters - longing and sighs?
Where are Noah and Japheth after survival?

20. And where are Ham and Shem?
There is no safety from death for one who flees,

41. And your judgements were complete with justice.
To you belongs praise in life and death,

42. And from you comes healing and affliction.
I fear the evil of punishment, and I hope for

43. You, so grant me well-being, O Peace.
And by your servant, O Ghani, heal me

44. In the eternal Garden, where the dwellings are pleasant.
I wish, but I have no worthy deed,

45. Yet my means is Islam.
God's mercy encompassed everything.

46. Forgiveness and blessing from Him became due.
My son, is there a way to meet?

47. You are the one who breaks fasts, and they are fasting.
Quench me with the wine that is sealed

48. In the gardens of Eden, and their seal is musk.
Race with the most generous to the seat of truth.

49. Peace be upon you, O branch of Fihra,
You were a righteous branch, and speech is beautiful through you.
