4. Yes, sometimes an inferior man rules over his superiors

6. And the young man fears his might before his might
While the weak may avoid the strong out of caution

7. Not everyone who brandishes swords is a combatant
Nor is everyone who meets lances a fighter

8. And every man whose leader was the goat
Oppresses and no oppressor harms the oppressed for him

9. So say to the Abbasids, return the injustices

13. Did not news and signs of him reach you
Through the faces of days, some of which are cheerful?

14. The beauty of his meanings which if embodied

15. The land of Rome did not quake from him and shake

19. And braver than an eye that saw him and did not find

20. Were it not for the defense of lineages from their blows
Their feet would have betrayed them, and the pillars

21. So what do you think, if the honorable drew his sword
When this is his deed while still sheathed?

23. The falsehood of a foe does not harm one in the right
If the divine decrees contend with him

24. And every structure founded on tyranny, its builder
Allows it to be destroyed at his own hands

25. O noble state, sheathe your swords

26. And resolve, for the eyes of insight may go blind
If they lack the kohl of resolves

27. It is from the resolute, supporting forearm that your might comes from
Can palms strike without forearms?

28. And if not for Heraclius, the rightly guided would not remain
And the night of disbelief would persist, overwhelming

29. He is not of their kind, nor are they of his
Though the branches of crime converge

30. And two similar things may coincide
From perspectives, while the unjust sleeps wakefully

31. The beasts are not of mankind, even if they share
With man in the meaning of life, the beasts

As if those who were routed to you by defeats

33. In every land your army dragged its tail
Leaving signs, not worlds, of their conditions

34. As if none besides you raised a flag there
Nor was heard in it the battle cries of an army

35. The chiefs of Hashim, though few, you empowered
Even if among them were lords and nobles

36. And in the body are beautiful things, but
Only the cheeks are distinguished by a beautiful smile

37. With an Egyptian burst forth to you, and for long
You have peeled, while I yearn for a beloved rival

38. Repel her echo from your armies, she is but
A neglected heart, and the veins are weak

39. Call out, for if feet do not hasten to you
Then skulls obediently hasten to you

40. The ends of a tyrannical aggressor do not remain distant
If one day the swords are ridden to him

42. You are a stranger, yet did not estrange, you built yet did not build
So every ignorant conscience of you is knowing

43. Every eloquent one is in describing you mute
And every blamer in attaining you is culpable

44. If words could do more, they would interpret,
