1. He was my intercessor with pardon
Through him, Allah forgives sins and pardons

2. Will He accept my fasting when I'm distant from Him
Or reward me, so I'm recompensed?

3. This month wished it would last forever
Following you, time after time

4. Just as this month wished none would share it
Except you, devout worshipper, purified

5. I renewed it though its essence is renewal
And persisted in all I used to shun

6. Had you not honoured its building
The nights and destined decree built it

7. Though elders revere its grandeur
All grandeur is small in your judgement

8. No predecessor precedes the Sublime
No successor comes after the Sublime

9. As if kohl, flowers, meadows and musk
Ambergris layered over them

10. Most of its udders are for those it favours
When they come, chaste from other people

11. It divides its generosity a thousandfold
Though its flock awaits no more

12. None compares to it among the exalted
None rivals it among few or plenty

13. O King whose essence none knows
His creation conceals knowledge of Him

14. O Noble whom no tribe claims uniquely
O Exemplar for past and future generations

15. I see people in droves flocking to you
As if summoned from tombs on the Day of Resurrection

16. For you unite those severed by time
And gather kinfolk and strangers

17. We praise you not for bounty and generosity
But for the truth that none can deny
