And the view that one hopes for after you is most lost

6. And the face of virtue went black after it was seen

20. And I did not know, may God know, that beforehand
Dew falls upon his family and is dispersed

21. And we stood up and said, when he was alone in the ground
What is said about a dispersing cloud:

22. Were you not sheltering us from the days of tribulation
And protecting our hopes from being lost

23. And wearing noble morals as if
You were armored from excessive chastity

24. And extending a hand in rights as if
Its fingers in valor and generosity were outstretched

25. And you tied your loins while the cowardly hearts
Trembled in fear of unsheathed swords that clattered

26. And the wish of the guided brought you moisture
So it interceded like a fulfilled wish intercedes

27. So the fault-finder was rendered speechless while he is confounded
And the envier was rendered speechless while he is muzzled

28. Lo! Verily in the grasp of death there is anguish
That makes the eyes of the sublime weep as they overflow

29. It is the soul, if the generous weep for its loss
Then it is plucked from between the intestines of the generous

30. Lo! A nose that did not return, and it is severed
Is severed for your loss during generous deeds

31. And a man was not touched by you while grieving
With his hide whipped, in his mind whipped
