1. I've turned my affair at the start and end
And settled my state in fairness and restraint

2. So I've not opened my mouth but as if dumb
Nor stretched my hand but pulled it back again

3. I've no fault but what I unleashed of my thoughts
Eastward and westward, and what knots I've tied

4. A gentle fluttering inspires the poetry
A spirit roams freely in body confined

5. Hours of thanks nourished by eternity
Are longer-lived than forever entwined

6. When sorrows enshroud me, I envelope them
A heart, once lit, dispels the dark lined

7. I've lived my days shaping myself by you
Until I seemed no longer of my own kind

8. Then you discarded our ties and bonds
Till I thought myself no more of your blood-lined

9. So I turned inward to empower myself
Beyond you, and clung to no other designed

10. And praising who merits no praise I take
As a limb severed from my heart and mind

11. A people when eyes of hope upon them shine
Return with glanced blows that tear and grind

12. So dawn of poetry is weaker in their eyes
Than the dawn of lions stalking bright-lined

13. You'll not see unleashed on a foot one who speaks
Among them, but folded in envy maligned

14. Say a saying whose rule in prevention
Will stand, if against me preventions they bind,

15. To buttress my case or help refuse my arm
Or curb my excess or make equal my inclined

16. Or the one whose defects have long oozed
Of matters, to its novel method aligned

17. If you're one who in waiting has patience and grit
Then I've no such patience or grit resigned

18. So speak of me in rubble and distant
For in you I'm worthy of rubble designed
