1. If it were not for Abu Ya'qub in his determination,
The cause of glory would have come undone.

2. A lion when needs appeal to his righteousness,
Whether in his disdain or his resolve.

3. Look how hopes, in his contemplation, sitting and standing,
Return to him.

4. How does one complain of fate and its caprice,
And the prince's bounty while you are in his days?

5. This is a cloud from which you drew its rain,
And after God, the overflow of its rain is upon you.

6. To initiate proper conduct is a towering glory,
And all glory is in perfecting it.

7. This crescent charms the sights of all people
In beauty, and nothing equals its beauty when full.
