2. A king who became the neighbor of the Caliphate,
And God has enjoined good treatment of one's neighbor.

3. O Lord of the tribulation of a nation led astray
By its tyrant in obeying the Supreme Tyrant.

ุฌูŽุจู‘ุงุฑูู‡ุง ููŠ ุทุงุนูŽุฉู ุงู„ุฌูŽุจู‘ุงุฑู

4. Fate took a turn with Khayzuran deceitfully,
So tyranny made his abode one of destruction.

5. How many favors of God he had,
Yet he was as if estranged and shackled.

6. The locks of blame were cast over him and faded away
Like the fading of a beautiful lady's veil.

7. Seeking revenge for her humiliation by God,
And the Lord of Vengeance suffices as the requiter.

ูˆูŽูƒูŽูู‰ ุจูุฑูŽุจู‘ู ุงู„ุซูŽุฃุฑู ู…ูุฏุฑููƒูŽ ุซุงุฑู

8. Echoing the Commander of the Faithful in Zabargad,
In his sheath lies the courage of the unsheathed sword.

9. With deceit he built the pillars of his kingdom,
Though he laid its foundations on the verge of collapse,

10. Until God split open his conscience,
From the residing disbelief and obstinacy within.

ูกู . ุญูŽุชู‘ู‰ ุฅูุฐุง ู…ุง ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุดูŽู‚ู‘ูŽ ุถูŽู…ูŠุฑูŽู‡ู
ุนูŽู† ู…ูุณุชูŽูƒูู†ู‘ู ุงู„ูƒููุฑู ูˆูŽุงู„ุฅูุตุฑุงุฑู

11. And he inclined his blade to this religion, bent over,
While truth recoiled from him, clawing and scratching.

ูกูก. ูˆูŽู†ูŽุญุง ู„ูู‡ูŽุฐุง ุงู„ุฏูŠู†ู ุดูŽูุฑูŽุชูŽู‡ู ุงูู†ุซูŽู†ู‰
ูˆูŽุงู„ุญูŽู‚ู‘ู ู…ูู†ู‡ู ู‚ุงู†ูุฆู ุงู„ุฃูŽุธูุงุฑู

12. This Prophet was the elite of his Lord
Amongst mankind, with dignity and honor.

ูกูข. ู‡ูŽุฐุง ุงู„ู†ูŽุจููŠู‘ู ูˆูŽูƒุงู†ูŽ ุตูŽููˆูŽุฉูŽ ุฑูŽุจู‘ูู‡ู
ู…ูู† ุจูŽูŠู†ู ุจุงุฏู ููŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽู†ุงู…ู ูˆูŽู‚ุงุฑู

13. He singled out a group of the hypocrites
Who were more harmful than the disbelievers.

ูกูฃ. ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฎูŽุตู‘ูŽ ู…ูู† ุฃูŽู‡ู„ู ุงู„ู†ููุงู‚ู ุนูุตุงุจูŽุฉู‹
ูˆูŽู‡ูู…ู ุฃูŽุดูŽุฏู‘ู ุฃูŽุฐู‰ู‹ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ูƒููู‘ุงุฑู

14. And he chose Sa'd, from the Bani Ubayda,
For the revelation of God, apart from any other.

ูกูค. ูˆูŽุงูุฎุชุงุฑูŽ ู…ูู† ุณูŽุนุฏู ู„ูŽุนูŠู†ู ุจูŽู†ูŠ ุฃูŽุจูŠ
ุณูŽุฑุญู ู„ููˆูŽุญูŠู ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุบูŽูŠุฑูŽ ุฎููŠุงุฑู

15. Until he illuminated with the flames of resolve
That raised for him curtains from the secrets.

ูกูฅ. ุญูŽุชู‘ู‰ ุงูุณุชูŽุถุงุกูŽ ุจูุดูุนู„ูŽุฉู ุงู„ุณููˆูŽุฑู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุชูŠ
ุฑูŽููŽุนูŽุช ู„ูŽู‡ู ุณูŽุฌูุงู‹ ุนูŽู†ู ุงู„ุฃูŽุณุฑุงุฑู

16. And the Hashimites, their caravan departed
From Karbalaโ€™, loaded with the heaviest burdens.

ูกูฆ. ูˆูŽุงู„ู‡ุงุดูู…ููŠู‘ูˆู†ูŽ ุงูุณุชูŽู‚ูŽู„ู‘ูŽุช ุนูŠุฑูู‡ูู…
ู…ูู† ูƒูŽุฑุจูŽู„ุงุกูŽ ุจูุฃูŽุซู‚ูŽู„ู ุงู„ุฃูŽูˆุชุงุฑู

17. So the Chosen One healed their rift with him,
For, in his religion, he was not the Chosen.

18. Until, when his secrets were uncovered, they disavowed him
Completely, in hearing and in sight.

19. Had it not been for the gross treachery of Khayzuran
There would not have been, in Islam, a scandalous year.

ู„ููŠูŽูƒูˆู†ูŽ ููŠ ุงู„ุฅูุณู„ุงู…ู ุนุงู…ู ููุฌุงุฑู

20. The secret of his disbelief remained in his breast
Until he kindled the secret spark, burning.

ุญูŽุชู‘ู‰ ุงูุตุทูŽู„ู‰ ุณูุฑู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุฒูู†ุงุฏู ุงู„ูˆุงุฑูŠ

21. A fire that runs through his body with its heat,
Flames whose blasts demolish his pillars without rubble.

ูขูก. ู†ุงุฑุงู‹ ูŠูุณุงูˆูุฑู ุฌูุณู…ูŽู‡ู ู…ูู† ุญูŽุฑู‘ูู‡ุง
ู„ูŽู‡ูŽุจูŒ ูƒูŽู…ุง ุนูŽุตููŽุฑุชูŽ ุดูู‚ู‘ูŽ ุฅูุฒุงุฑู

22. Ignited, it was raised for the greatest idolator,
One who never raised its light as a guide.

ูขูข. ุทุงุฑูŽุช ู„ูŽู‡ุง ุดูุนูŽู„ูŒ ูŠูู‡ูŽุฏู‘ูู…ู ู„ูŽูุญูู‡ุง
ุฃูŽุฑูƒุงู†ูŽู‡ู ู‡ูŽุฏู…ุงู‹ ุจูุบูŽูŠุฑู ุบูุจุงุฑู

23. He prayed towards it while alive, and was its fuel when dead,
Entering it with the sinners.

ูขูฃ. ู…ูŽุดุจูˆุจูŽุฉู‹ ุฑูููุนูŽุช ู„ูุฃูŽุนุธูู…ู ู…ูุดุฑููƒู
ู…ุง ูƒุงู†ูŽ ูŠูŽุฑููŽุนู ุถูŽูˆุกูŽู‡ุง ู„ูู„ุณุงุฑูŠ

24. They ripped apart every joint of his body
And did to each limb as a poor criminalโ€™s.

ูขูค. ุตูŽู„ู‘ู‰ ู„ูŽู‡ุง ุญูŽูŠู‘ุงู‹ ูˆูŽูƒุงู†ูŽ ูˆูŽู‚ูˆุฏูŽู‡ุง
ู…ูŽูŠุชุงู‹ ูˆูŽูŠูŽุฏุฎูู„ูู‡ุง ู…ูŽุนูŽ ุงู„ููุฌู‘ุงุฑู

25. Thus will the people of the Fire be, in this world,
On the Day of Resurrection, most of the people of the Fire.

ูˆูŽููŽุนูŽู„ู†ูŽ ูุงู‚ูุฑูŽุฉู‹ ุจููƒูู„ู‘ู ููŽู‚ุงุฑู

26. O what a scene it was, whose joy reached
Its farthest cities โ€“ the citiesโ€™ folk rejoiced.

ูขูฆ. ูˆูŽูƒูŽุฐุงูƒูŽ ุฃูŽู‡ู„ู ุงู„ู†ุงุฑู ููŠ ุงู„ุฏูู†ูŠุง ู‡ูู…ู
ูŠูŽูˆู…ูŽ ุงู„ู‚ููŠุงู…ูŽุฉู ุฌูู„ู‘ู ุฃูŽู‡ู„ู ุงู„ู†ุงุฑู

27. They looked upon the heights of his trunk, as if
They had found the crescent on the eve of breaking the fast.

ูขูง. ูŠุง ู…ูŽุดู‡ูŽุฏุงู‹ ุตูŽุฏูŽุฑูŽุช ุจูููŽุฑุญูŽุชูู‡ู ุฅูู„ู‰
ุฃูŽู…ุตุงุฑูู‡ุง ุงู„ู‚ูุตูˆู‰ ุจูŽู†ูˆ ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ุตุงุฑู

28. And they sniffed from it a perfume whose diffusion
Was of fine ambergris and aromatic musk.

ูขูจ. ุฑูŽู…ูŽู‚ูˆุง ุฃูŽุนุงู„ูŠ ุฌูุฐุนูู‡ู ููŽูƒูŽุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง
ูˆูŽุฌูŽุฏูˆุง ุงู„ู‡ูู„ุงู„ูŽ ุนูŽุดููŠู‘ูŽุฉูŽ ุงู„ุฅููุทุงุฑู

29. And they talked of his death as talk
Of the nomads about successive rains.

ูขูฉ. ูˆูŽุงูุณุชูŽู†ุดูŽุฃูˆุง ู…ูู†ู‡ู ู‚ูุชุงุฑุงู‹ ู†ูŽุดุฑูู‡ู
ู…ูู† ุนูŽู†ุจูŽุฑู ุฐูŽููุฑู ูˆูŽู…ูุณูƒู ุฏุงุฑูŠ

30. And they exchanged greetings as pilgrims do
During venerable years at the cheapest rates.

ูฃู . ูˆูŽุชูŽุญูŽุฏู‘ูŽุซูˆุง ุนูŽู† ู‡ูู„ูƒูู‡ู ูƒูŽุญูŽุฏูŠุซู ู…ูŽู†
ุจูุงู„ุจูŽุฏูˆู ุนูŽู† ู…ูุชูŽุชุงุจูุนู ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ุทุงุฑู

31. The gloating of a gloater was shameful, for
With it the clothes of shame were washed clean.

ูฃูก. ูˆูŽุชูŽุจุงุดูŽุฑูˆุง ูƒูŽุชูŽุจุงุดูุฑู ุงู„ุญูŽุฑูŽู…ูŽูŠู†ู ููŠ
ู‚ูุญูŽู…ู ุงู„ุณูู†ูŠู†ู ุจูุฃูŽุฑุฎูŽุตู ุงู„ุฃูŽุณุนุงุฑู

32. The Caliph had granted him a position
In his heart, inviolable by fate.

33. So he quenched his thirst with sweet water gently,
And let him sleep in safety, without cunning.

34. And through him he saw what โ€˜Amr ibn Shas
Had never seen before him in lifeless ruins.

ูฃูค. ููŽุณูŽู‚ุงู‡ู ู…ุงุกูŽ ุงู„ุฎูŽูุถู ุบูŽูŠุฑูŽ ู…ูุตูŽุฑู‘ูŽุฏู
ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ุงู…ูŽู‡ู ููŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ู†ู ุบูŽูŠุฑูŽ ุบูุฑุงุฑู

35. Yet here is the son of an infidel woman delighting in his unbelief
With passion like Farazdaqโ€™s delight in lampoons.

ูฃูฅ. ูˆูŽุฑูŽุฃู‰ ุจูู‡ู ู…ุง ู„ูŽู… ูŠูŽูƒูู† ูŠูŽูˆู…ุงู‹ ุฑูŽุฃู‰
ุนูŽู…ุฑููˆ ุจู†ู ุดูŽุฃุณู ู‚ูŽุจู„ูŽู‡ู ุจูุนูุฑุงุฑู

36. And when he remembered him he wept as Kaโ€™b wept
When he elegized Abu Mihjan long ago.

ูฃูฆ. ููŽุฅูุฐุง ุงูุจู†ู ูƒุงููุฑูŽุฉู ูŠูุณูุฑู‘ู ุจููƒููุฑูู‡ู
ูˆูŽุฌุฏุงู‹ ูƒูŽูˆูŽุฌุฏู ููŽุฑูŽุฒุฏูŽู‚ู ุจูู†ูŽูˆุงุฑู

37. His embellishments deluded the Caliph that
Not every lush, green branch bears fruit.

ูฃูง. ูˆูŽุฅูุฐุง ุชูŽุฐูŽูƒู‘ูŽุฑูŽู‡ู ุจูŽูƒุงู‡ู ูƒูŽู…ุง ุจูŽูƒู‰
ูƒูŽุนุจูŒ ุฒูŽู…ุงู†ูŽ ุฑูŽุซู‰ ุฃูŽุจุง ุงู„ู…ูุบูˆุงุฑู

38. O you who firmly grasps the hand of Kaโ€™usโ€™s folk with justice,
Pair their right hand with their left.

ูฃูจ. ุฏูŽู„ู‘ูŽุช ุฒูŽุฎุงุฑูููู‡ู ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ูŠููŽุฉูŽ ุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู‡ู
ู…ุง ูƒูู„ู‘ู ุนูˆุฏู ู†ุงุถูุฑู ุจูู†ูุถุงุฑู

39. Affix the traitorous forehead with a rear skull,
And the betraying chest with a breastplate.

ูฃูฉ. ูŠุง ู‚ุงุจูุถุงู‹ ูŠูŽุฏูŽ ุขู„ู ูƒุงูˆูุณูŽ ุนุงุฏูู„ุงู‹
ุฃูŽุชุจูุน ูŠูŽู…ูŠู†ุงู‹ ู…ูู†ู‡ูู…ู ุจููŠูŽุณุงุฑู

40. Know that you only cast them
Into some of the pits they dug themselves.

ูคู . ุฃูŽู„ุญูู‚ ุฌูŽุจูŠู†ุงู‹ ุฏุงู…ููŠุงู‹ ุฑูŽู…ู‘ูŽู„ุชูŽู‡ู
ุจูู‚ูŽูุงู‹ ูˆูŽุตูŽุฏุฑุงู‹ ุฎุงุฆูู†ุงู‹ ุจูุตูุฏุงุฑู

41. Had his tribe not plotted against the Samaritan
Their calf would not have perished without cause.

ูคูก. ูˆูŽุงูุนู„ูŽู… ุจูุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽูƒูŽ ุฅูู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง ุชูู„ู‚ูŠู‡ูู…ู
ููŠ ุจูŽุนุถู ู…ุง ุญูŽููŽุฑูˆุง ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ุขุจุงุฑู

42. Thamud would not have stabbed her she-camel
Had they not impugned their Lord, by Qudarโ€™s sword.

ูคูข. ู„ูŽูˆ ู„ูŽู… ูŠูŽูƒูุฏ ู„ูู„ุณุงู…ูุฑููŠู‘ู ู‚ูŽุจูŠู„ูู‡ู
ู…ุง ุฎุงุฑูŽ ุนูุฌู„ูู‡ูู…ู ุจูุบูŽูŠุฑู ุฎููˆุงุฑู

43. It healed the intestines from their sores
That your door became inaccessible to visitors.

ูคูฃ. ูˆูŽุซูŽู…ูˆุฏู ู„ูŽูˆ ู„ูŽู… ูŠูุฏู‡ูู†ูˆุง ููŠ ุฑูŽุจู‘ูู‡ูู…
ู„ูŽู… ุชูŽุฏู…ูŽ ู†ุงู‚ูŽุชูู‡ู ุจูุณูŽูŠูู ู‚ูุฏุงุฑู

44. Peerless in the heart of the heavens though they were two in the cave,
As if they disappeared so as to fold up

ูคูค. ูˆูŽู„ูŽู‚ูŽุฏ ุดูŽูู‰ ุงู„ุฃูŽุญุดุงุกูŽ ู…ูู† ุจูุฑูŽุญุงุฆูู‡ุง
ุฃูŽู† ุตุงุฑูŽ ุจุงุจูŽูƒู ุฌุงุฑูŽ ู…ุง ุฒูŽูŠู‘ุงุฑู

45. News from a peering stalker,
Wearing black robes as if woven by venomous spiders,

ูคูฅ. ุซุงู†ูŠู‡ู ููŠ ูƒูŽุจูุฏู ุงู„ุณูŽู…ุงุกู ูˆูŽู„ูŽู… ูŠูŽูƒูู†
ู„ูุงูุซู†ูŽูŠู†ู ุซุงู†ู ุฅูุฐ ู‡ูู…ุง ููŠ ุงู„ุบุงุฑู

46. Covered in the depths of carried litters,
Tied up for them at the carpenterโ€™s workshop.

ูคูฆ. ูˆูŽูƒูŽุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง ุงูู†ุชูŽุจูŽุฐุง ู„ููƒูŽูŠู…ุง ูŠูŽุทูˆููŠุง
ุนูŽู† ู†ุงุทูุณู ุฎูŽุจูŽุฑุงู‹ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฎุจุงุฑู

47. They do not budge, and whoever sees them finds them
Forever on a journey of journeys.

ูคูง. ุณูˆุฏู ุงู„ุซููŠุงุจู ูƒูŽุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง ู†ูŽุณูŽุฌูŽุช ู„ูŽู‡ูู…
ุฃูŽูŠุฏูŠ ุงู„ุณูŽู…ูˆู…ู ู…ูŽุฏุงุฑูุนุงู‹ ู…ูู† ู‚ุงุฑู

48. They plotted against prophecy and guidance, so
Their necks were severed in that arena.

ูคูจ. ุจูŽูƒูŽุฑูˆุง ูˆูŽุฃูŽุณุฑูˆุง ููŠ ู…ูุชูˆู†ู ุถูŽูˆุงู…ูุฑู
ู‚ูŠุฏูŽุช ู„ูŽู‡ูู… ู…ูู† ู…ูŽุฑุจูุทู ุงู„ู†ูŽุฌุงุฑู

49. They were ignorant and so did not appreciate
An acknowledged obedience in building lifetimes.

ูคูฉ. ู„ุง ูŠูŽุจุฑูŽุญูˆู†ูŽ ูˆูŽู…ูŽู† ุฑูŽุขู‡ูู… ุฎุงู„ูŽู‡ูู…
ุฃูŽุจูŽุฏุงู‹ ุนูŽู„ู‰ ุณูŽููŽุฑู ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุณูุงุฑู

50. So strengthen the Caliphate through Aaron, he being
A comfort for its desolation and a house of rest,
