1. The universes shone and time smiled
And glory was etched on its forehead

2. Blessed is an era in which
It fulfilled its promise and granted us joy and bounty

3. Its bounty adorned our necks
So we thrive among the nations

4. If we see justice, we see our ancestors
Joys almost revived ruins

5. It was generous until it returned without stinginess
All it had concealed since antiquity

6. A blessing from it which we attained
A tender garment of bounty

7. Rashid, governor of the Levant’s lands
Its resolute, respected notables

8. Its pride, its excellence, its splendor
Indeed, the imam of this era - what a blessing!

9. It marched with the state, prosperity and glory
Success has blessed its steps

10. It was absent from us for months
That seemed an epoch of deprivation and pain

11. It returned and its return brought us
The full moon of delight

12. It appeared in Beirut’s harbor
Where it was welcomed with praise and smiles

13. Rejoice - make the voices of congratulations call out
In the expanse of Levant at those hills

14. And give the good tidings to you, your joy
Our respected, resolute guardian has returned

15. It settled in Syria since it settled
Every comfort and bounty

16. Its ground flourished
When that foot touched it

17. The rays of its light shone
A brilliant smile that tore the veils of darkness

18. What a return that dressed us
In the garb of greatness over the ages

19. Its wisdom reformed its conditions
And revived it after extinction

20. It attained from the Sublime all it sought
For its intentions are reform of nations

21. How not, when it emanated
From the approval of our Sultan, that paramount one

22. Abdulaziz, elevated above
The throne of glory in the highest of resolves

23. Extending capabilities beyond imagination
A hand controlling nations

24. All in existence obeys him
As does the sword, success and the pen

25. The world is stabilized by his lofty command
So wisdom saves it from the harm of extinction

26. His army in its wars resembled
The raid of resolute heroes

27. I almost sought, were it not for my Creator -
I seek Allah's forgiveness - the abode of bounty

28. People graze in the meadow of his security
As do the wolf and sheep

29. It left no mention of past
Kings of the Arabs or non-Arabs

30. He is a singular person imprinted
With all kinds of virtues and generosity

31. He prevailed until he erected in the horizon of glory
Pride too lofty to face extinction

32. The era boasts of him as he becomes
Clad at his door in the garb of service

33. May Allah perpetuate through him our regions
As the enemies' have been destroyed

34. Eloquence was humbled in describing him
And so were the rhyming verses praising him

35. My pen fell short in praise
As did his generous white hand in bounty

36. So they clamored with prayers
And roared with praises consuming nations

37. And chanted, may the Master immortalize him
On the throne of a kingdom His Creator protects
