1. Ramadan has passed, as though it passed me by
Its years have gone after being present a while

2. What a noble time it was when it was present
How dear its era is to me though it's gone

3. It visited us like a gentle summer breeze
Lingered with us an hour, then left

4. Oh, I wonder as it intended its far journey
Did it turn from us satisfied or cross?

5. It strove with us virtuously for truth
So which youth among us has truth fulfilled?

6. How many a white hand did good to the reverent
Their repentance made the scrolls turn white

7. How much beauty has its beauty increased
Time erased it, but kindness and beauty replace

8. So for a noble month I exposed myself
But none exposed themselves save the averse

9. In the space between, it taught you passions
In its wake, send your eyelids pouring tears

10. Stop at the slopes of farewell, for they
Refine one yearning for them, pure of heart

11. If you fulfilled before parting, stop and stand
For its Night of Power fulfills whatever is divined

12. Oh, the beauty of that night, mighty its value
The Hashimi urged and roused to seek it

13. Perhaps the remainder days, noble though they are
Might secretly show the latter ones what was concealed

14. It was the purest blossoms he offered to overflow
But the ardent ones vied, so it was cut off

15. He said “Seek them and you'll prosper in seeking”
So the hearts' masters were roused and stood up

16. May God, Lord of the Throne, reward him well
And honor us with pardon and pleasure from Him

17. And bless the Prophet, blessed mercy to all
Merciful and Compassionate, chosen as Messenger

18. His lofty honor above the sun in station
His purpose firmer than the sharpened sword

19. His mention more fragrant than sealed musk
His overflowing virtues perfuming the air

20. Upon him, God's peace, as long as the pourer pours
And gold-inlaid meadows continue to shimmer and shine
