1. My longing for that splendor was stirring
My heart, so I had great yearning to see it.

2. But in its description I was halted -
It brought my body only tranquility.

3. Consider my condition in passion and love -
I inherited in the morn the state of the wretched.

4. For everything I desired was denied me,
My love, by the origin of growth and creation.

5. My case and excuse are clear to the Wise One,
So further explanation is but folly.
