1. My tongue falters, unsure what to say
I praise my Lord, the Omnipotent, the Benevolent

2. And beseech Him to guard my heart
And support His sublime Throne

3. I praise Ahmad the First, peerless
In merit, nobility, and bounty

4. And sing of Egypt, for Egypt is
The bride of cities and of lands
