1. Egypt, as they have titled it, is the mother of the world
There is no place like it in fertility

2. It is enough for it, its blessed Nile narrates
Its two streams flow in the account

3. That Nile, and it is the parent of Egypt
A devoted son to his black mother Sudan

4. It was the idol of the ancients, and does not refuse
To unveil its beloved to the people of this era

5. What is in the Nile other than marvelous?
It does not call for love and infatuation

6. All that is in it, the mind loves meaningfully
And its beauty is adored by the eyes

7. So when it lessens, it melts ice
And when it overflows, it is from springs

8. And in both states, it meets our needs
Quenching the thirst of the thirsty

9. And its loyalty suffices, for it is in it
An example circulated in every tongue

10. Every year it sends to Egypt the most precious
That it has in the image of the flood

11. That is the promise it made to summer and the Nile
The guarantor of loyalty in the covenant

12. Whenever the hot wind blazed
Scorching plants and animals

13. The Nile extinguished its fire with an abundant outpour
Flooding the plains and hills

14. And after the afflictions, it gave it satiation
And adorned it in the dress of urbanization

15. And irrigated for us what is apart from it, a river of generosity
And crowned it, known for blessings
