1. Your yesterday passed away, amended and a martyr,
And after it came a new day upon you.

2. So if yesterday you committed a misdeed,
Make amends with goodness while you are praised.

3. For if you make your day profitable, its benefit
Returns to you, and yesterday of the past will not come back.

4. And do not postpone the doing of good to another day,
Lest tomorrow comes while you are lost.

5. When death misses you and encounters
Your bosom friend, know that it will return.
