١. لَيلٍ كَما نَفَضَ الغُرابُ جَناحَهُ
مُتَبَقِّعُ الأَعلى بَهيمُ الأَسفَلِ
2. The stars gleam out of the crevices of its darkness
The glittering of the Pleiades from the crevices of Orion
٢. تَبدو الكَواكِبُ مِن فُتوقِ ظَلامِهِ
لَمعَ الأَسِنَّةِ مِن فُتوقِ القَسطَلِ
3. And you see the stars in the Galaxy like sails
Like gazelles taking shelter in a wadi
٣. وَتَرى الكَواكِبَ في المَجَرَّةِ شُرَّعاً
مِثلَ الظِباءِ كَوارِعاً في جَدوَلِ
