1. Convey to the clan of Tamim that rumors may come to you
That our homes are in solid rock

2. In every lodge of it we dwell
To Qalhah the house is ours

3. To the ravines of Dowmah, so the lodges
With valleys, below them meadows

4. Above if we fear, citadels
We camp on its plain, if alarmed

5. Aid flows from them with stalwart men
Each towering height and bending dune

6. Their camels protected from transgressors
They are tethered daily with strong ropes

7. Hung on their pegs are the spears
Only the brave and valiant complained of them

8. They were roused by warriors each day
Their tents they made pliant

9. Their honor bent their shoulders and tired
Their pegs and roused the eyes

10. When the whips against them were raised they yielded
That's from their enduring weakness

11. Their recourse when we return
Sword of onion and milk of sheep

12. So settle in your lands, a people
When their lands call they become ignoble

13. Or take refuge in Sinan when it rains
For rain clouds gather there

14. When it comes, it comes like sea swell
Tossed in its billows, the ships

15. A title for the generous, easy
And cunning when tested, strong
