1. O you who the willful maidens desire
With perfumed locks and alluring eyes

2. When you meet the Prophet, tell him
I have a right upon you when the gathering calms

3. O best of those who rode the steed or walked
Upon the dust when souls are counted

4. Indeed false idols surrendered and guidance followed
And by you our darkness cleared away entirely

5. We have fulfilled what we pledged to you
As the horses gallop in Al-Kumah and stampede

6. When there poured from the plains of Buḥāthah
An army by which the battlefields did seethe

7. Until we made the people of Mecca motley prey
Led by ambitions that know no fatigue

8. From every winner at Sulaym, above him
White banners, steadfast when clutched

9. Who quenches thirst when boldly warring
His friends see him as a lion when enraged

10. He attacks the battalion teaching it
Wrath held in his palm, tied firm in its lead

11. And at Ḥunain our army did its vow fulfill
A thousand by which the Messenger was supported

12. They were a shield for the faithful
While the sun upon them intensely beat

13. We advance and God guards us in His care
And Allah will not waste him who guards

14. We were detained by virtues in confinement
God was pleased with it, so excellent that jail

15. And the morn of Autas we stood so firm
It curbed the foe, and it was said: detain!

16. The Hawāzin cry out, kinship between us
A breast by which the Hawāzin are weaned

17. Until we left their army as though it were
A camel train ravaged by lurking wolves
