1. The messenger prevented us, the messenger of the King
With shining white that gleamed like lightning

Beware of rebellion and the clashing of swords

3. I deter and protect the messenger of the King
As a devoted guardian, caring for him

4. And I do not deter his enemies
With the prowling of hyenas, beware of treachery

5. Rather I visit upon them loftily
As a lion visited a narrow valley
