1. A man, uncle of Utba, verily
In a garden, if wrongs are not equalized

2. I say to him, though he's not present
Steadfast Abu Mu'tib, keep your dignity

3. Accept not from fate, whilst you live, dishonor
That would be insulted, seasons passed and gone

4. Leave the path of weakness to others unlike you
For you weren't created to be shackled by weakness

5. And battle, for battle is halves, you'll never see
A battle brother who'll cede loot, until reconciled

6. How could they do you grave wrong or betray you
As a victor or defeated, or cause you loss

7. May God reward us well against Abdu Shams, Naufal
Taym and Makhzum, for their disloyalty and sins

8. Splitting our group apart, after love and harmony
So they could seize the unlawful, ill-gotten gains

9. You lie, and the House of God, Muhammad is insulted
You've never seen a day he stood at the mountain passes
