1. May Allah reward Sa'd with Abariq a blessing,
And Habbud alive with the most fortunate.
١. جَزَى اللُه سَعْداً بِالأَبَارِقِ نِعْمَةً
وحَيّاً بِهَبُّودٍ جَزَى اللهُ أَسْعَدَا
2. And alive upon Tibrak, I have not seen the likes of them,
A brother whose ropes have been severed, singled out.
٢. وَحَيّاً عَلَى تِبْرَاكَ لَمْ أَرع مِثْلَهُمْ
أَخاً قطِعَتْ مِنْهُ الحَبَائِلُ مُفْرَدَا
3. I cried over the loss of companions on the day they left
On the back of a bare mountain road.
٣. بَكَيْتُ بِخُصْمَي شَنَّةٍ يَوْمَ فَارَقُوا
عَلَى ظَهْرِ عَجْعَاجِ العَشِيَّاتِ أَجْرَدَا
4. They went away while the only choice was them
On the paths of a mountain range that scattered.
٤. أَخَبَّا وقَدْ كَانَ المَزَادُ سِوَاهُمَا
عَلَى شُعَبٍ مِنْ صَادِرٍ قَدْ تَبَدَّدَا
