1. We were delighted by the same acacia, watching over the home's fragrances
We roamed, grazing for the dwellings' scents

2. We found the pleiades at night and the blossoms of its stars
Shining for us before the dawn lanterns

3. And thunder startled us with its blinking light
Dragging from the darkness' eyelid glittering metal

4. We did not herd but the long nights with them
Promising with the flock of beauties gone astray

5. Seas which their poison lasted ages and sequence
Followed by temper's winds fragrances

6. As if no trace of joy in it passed fleetingly
And the bird of bliss returned sorrowed yesterday

7. My eyes drew to a close and my eyes are free
Shall I restrain a neighbor from his extent and freedom?

8. Despite myself, I address a playground
Answering me the sound of whistles screaming

9. And accompany in it, singing, the son of Daya
Losing in it with the throne, a chanter

10. It befriended Fatah, protection, as if
Its limbs were dancing from us, limbs

11. And in it the eyes of the eye sleep its night
And I feared much, a neighbor in it, harmful

12. It attacks him from Al-Muzain, going
I water it with tears from my eyelids pouring

13. When its betrayals are revealed and race
I see in it a human, my eyes swimming

14. Life is nothing but reversal and suspicion
It has afflictions that kill what was hopeful

15. Or discarding well-being after blessing
And a face joy's dress had adorned, barren

16. The star of the religion will rise in the horizon of his knowledge
A year and glory that dazzles even the sun shining

17. And eternal glory accompanies him
Becoming for him a companion and lanterns

18. The poles of his pulpit desire him
And ribs bow to him and wings

19. If he speaks in it, the deaf hear his sermon
And the lost to temptation are frightened, deviating

20. His eloquence's words melt
And his understandings wound minds and talents

21. By Allah, I do not know, did the dawn offer us
The nectar of a meadow or spread open homes shining?

22. Goodness is yours, I do not enumerate all your meanings
But to some I have become an explainer

23. If the envious deny your praises
And the hostile magnify therein dispraises

24. Yusuf was singled out by enemies before you
And Thamud hurt Saleh before that

25. I am in an ignorant time, its nobles
Seeing good in the ugliness of ignorance

26. They name its prophet either misguided or digger of trenches
And whomever ignorance has conquered, successful

27. In their declining Arabic grammar they make the imperfect verb transitive
And their poetry's meter they make defective, uneven

28. It has an ease that assumes thin singing
So whoever was among it losing became winning

29. Continue your path and remain high above any envious person reaching you
And do not avoid the full moon's surface howling

30. Lofty pillars bow down willingly
And the palms of glories shake hands

31. With books you frighten writers in battle
And with resolve you defeat the unjust fighter

32. You still sing the elegies and sing
The nights' turns aside from you comforting

33. So days do not disappoint whom you supported
And illusions do not misguide whom you advised
