1. I wonder why my friend no longer visits me

Not like his empty promises that rang untrue

5. Some cares make promises they do not keep
When the rock is hard, it's peace they cannot reap

6. So they remain in a sad impossible state
Though the heart attained the fortunes of its fate

7. Like one who casts off the burden he bore
When he wakes his eyes, the weight returns once more

8. He flatters me, his beauty like a flowered meadow
With cheeks of roses and glances warm and mellow

9. But fear of gossip made me say goodbye
God watches over me, so no need to lie
