1. Stop reproaching, for the reproached does not tire
Of truth, but can the departed return?

2. Will you punish me for all I have held you accountable for?
Let the prohibition punish and reproach me

3. Do not break my pact, for I am certain
Do not abstain from me, for I am desirous

4. By Allah, no offense was intended
But mistakes happen to one who strikes

5. I am true in my affection for you
Or was I one who hides from the liar?

6. Verify again my purity, for I
Am a gentle fawn, no resemblance to the wily

7. And I have been struck by the inconstant fate's arrow
And perhaps the seeker has erred

8. And if denied closeness to you, for so long
Hopes have attained, despite loss and despair

9. And for other than joy, I distance, and it is not for me
To accept the fulfillment of what I am absent from

10. No, by He who made glory a throne
To which the valiant lion ascends

11. The glorious helper, the noblest of the noble
Virtuous, generous, forgiving

12. Bestowing kindness, wise for the compliant
And upon enemies, stern and angry

13. Of the house of Janbu, nobler than any who mounted
Upon the ways of nobility, the riders

14. Past leader of the faithful, and commander of
Commanders in his decisive acts and deputy

15. And superior to those whose hands diplomacy bound
As a first offer, while she was an untouched maiden

16. Who protected the capitals when no protector saw
To defend them, while others courted them

17. And for them became a paradise with his might
Where the steed rears and the sword slashes

18. After the enemy had laid their nets
And for every loss a mourner mourned

19. And he hunted the least of the aggressors for them
And the hand of injustice is hunting and afflictions

20. So he drove them out with authoritative command
That neither tribes nor battalions can endure

21. And settled them with processions that shone with them
Smooth stones that they are like planets

22. And when the Protector endows a land with bounty
The evildoer flees, and the penitent settles

23. O you who fear the treachery of events, imploring
The companionship of desolation, but the companion has turned from him

24. Descend to his call, for you are safe
And seek his rivers, for they are clouds

25. The most generous - their actions are initiations
And they do not repeat tribulations against tribulations

26. O holder of reins of protection and traveler
Of the paths of nobility, and nobility has directions

27. I swear by Him who gave you your position, which
Kisra yielded to, and Kisra's courtier submitted to

28. That I hope for the day when good tidings came to you
Which you anticipated and watched for

29. If I were one who gives his soul for the post
And the kindred soul takes the giving soul

30. For through you glory and servitude were gained
The master attained honor, and so he is the winner

31. And may the positions below which
For the luminaries are stations and degrees delight you

32. For you are worthy to be, for the army of
Islam, a hidden pearl, even as you battle

33. So you illuminate what you were given, a penetrating
Thought, each of your arrows, a piercing star

34. And none but you has accompanied honor with experiences
And with you, of all matters are experiences

35. And through you, dew and despair have covered the land
So people are either obedient or monk

36. Amazed by you, the envious, and perhaps
The lowly are confounded by the lofty wonders

37. Since the lofty are not your equals in the ultimate
Does one who walks equal one who rides?

38. So be safe and shed tears despite the enemy's provocation
However she transgresses, you have lament, lament for her

39. You remain, O human, the eye of your time
Guiding coveted and wondrous things to you

40. Support of the sovereign and comfort wherever
You touched inanimate, it is melting water

41. The lightning of the two shining ones has not flashed at dusk
And settled gently, while the flute player laments

42. For the lasting of your glory is the adornment of aimless time
And the flash of your anger hits afflictions
