1. Revive my heart with memories of our meeting,

15. And I do not consider the ups and downs of fate
Anything but raids of wolves against gazelles.

16. So the eternal enemy recoiled from touching them,
And the brother of tribulations, Mansur the Victorious Banner.

17. He drove the tyrants out by force
While they persisted in their stubbornness and enmity.

18. So justice prevailed after the taster
Was forced to drink bitterness from it.

19. Those of glorious deed and effort ascended,
Rising with their glories above the celestial spheres,

20. Created as a cure for the ills of existence,
And they are to mercy as the sight is to the blind.

21. They came into the world as kings yet
In their self-sufficiency are like the poor.

22. O son of one whose origin is pure fragrance,
And its prosperity hoped for like prosperity itself!

23. Who equals you in a judge whose reasoning
Has prolonged reflection in dispensing justice?

24. One who comforts the hopeful compared to one who travels,
The moon of the darknesses or the sun of daylight!

25. All are good, but who of creation
Can match the progeny of prophets?

26. So remain, O branch, pure of origin,
Keen of mind with the fire of acumen,

27. Submitting to fate without complaint of echo,
Your visions having risen above reflection.

28. By it may you ransom me, for you have granted me
Praise that has exceeded the extent of my praise,

29. My hands frozen, my face hiding
In shyness before my praise, not my blame.

30. I shall not cease, O cave of dew,
And destination of foes and ink of scholars,

To rise through levels below which

32. Are the levels of glory in the glory of ascent.
So creation’s purpose is your existence,

33. And the purpose of existence is modesty’s survival.
For you, lack of money does not harm the generous,

34. Nor does wealth benefit the worthless.
So censure the coward, despised,
