1. I find you sleepless, as if your eyelids
Contain endless conversation

2. For a greatly saddening matter that made us anxious
And the tears of the eyes are the easiest to flow

3. We were anguished by the loss of the Prophet, who was
A leader of great dignity; what an excellent imam

4. He was our pillar and leader amongst us
Yet today we have no leader

5. We toss like waves, lamenting what we have suffered
And the holy land laments the loss of him

6. It is as if our noses were cut off
Due to the loss of Muhammad, in whom there is consolation

7. Due to the loss of the most virtuous Hashimite
The perfection of prophethood and its seal

8. The trusted Mustafa who calls to goodness
Like the light of the full moon dispelling darkness

9. I will follow his guidance as long as I live
For as long as the dove moans

10. I adhere to his religion, and each people
You see has a system from his way

11. We lost revelation since you turned away from us
And the words of God bid us farewell

12. Except what you left behind for us as a pledge
Inherited by the generous scripts

13. For you have bequeathed to us a legacy of truthfulness
Greetings and peace be upon you for it

14. From the Most Merciful in the highest gardens
Of Paradise, the dwelling therein is pleasant

15. The companion of your father Abraham therein
Is there any regret in such companionship?

16. And Isaac and Ishmael are therein
For their prayers to their Lord and fasting

17. So do not be distant, for every generous person
Will attain it, even if the doves dislike it

18. It is as if the earth, after you, took flight
And ignited it and its inhabitants
