1. I praise your blessings with words
By which proverbs are coined in diction and merit
١. سَأُثني عَلى نُعماكَ بِالكَلِمِ الَّتي
بِها تُضرَبُ الأَمثالُ في اللَفظِ وَالفَضلِ
2. By which sleeplessness is dispelled
And sweet sleep is brought to the cradle of a child
٢. بِها تَطرُدُ السارونَ عَن جَفنِها الكَرى
وَتَجلُبُ طيبَ النَومِ في المَهدِ لِلطِفلِ
