1. Forsaking affectation in what I have served
Is better than boredom, failure, and ennui,
١. تَركُ التَكَلُّفِ فيما قَد خَدَمتُ بِهِ
أَولى مِنَ المَطلِ وَالإِخلافِ وَالمَلَلِ
2. And many a speaker whose hand fell short
In tribulations, which barred him from deeds
٢. وَرُبَّ قائِلِ قَولٍ قَصَّرَت يَدَهُ
يَدُ الخُطوبِ فَصَدَّتهُ عَنِ العَمَلِ
