1. The agony of passion is painful for lovers,
And their reward on the Day of Judgment will be great.

2. By Allah, they will not taste hellfire even if they commit sin,
For their torment of love itself is hell.

3. By my soul, he who has slept ignoring my miserable state,
To me he is settled down and residing.

4. And that is only because his slender waist
Is like a cave for me to take refuge, and excuse to reside.
