1. Enough of your blame for generosity, yet neglect
Your hands reward with kindness, yet give abundantly
١. كَفاكَ تَهمي بِالنَوالِ وَتَهمُلُ
وَيَداكَ تَجزي بِالجَميلِ وَتُجزِلُ
2. Your heights decide to please the hopeful with contentment
Your gifts suffice the visitors, and take responsibility
٢. وَعُلاكَ يَقضي لِلمُؤَمِّلِ بِالرِضى
وَعَطاكَ يَكفي الوافِدينَ وَيَكفَلُ
3. You are the one whom if a dweller implores urgently
Provides generously for the guest, and makes complete
٣. أَنتَ الَّذي إِن أَمَّهُ مُستَصرِخٌ
يَكمي العَطِيَّةَ لِلنَزيلِ وَيَكمُلُ
4. So if a neighbor complains of the wrongs of events
You redress the guest, rising above the times and make equal
٤. فَإِذا شَكا جَورَ الحَوادِثِ جارُهُ
يُعدي النَزيلَ عَلا الزَمانِ وَيَعدِلُ
5. You were to shooting stars nothing but a downpour
Sent upon them in multitudes, and unleashed
٥. ما كُنتَ لِلشَهباءِ إِلّا وابِلاً
يُرسى عَليها بِالقُطارِ وَيُرسَلُ
6. My eyes never witnessed before you a ruler
To whom the doing of good is attributed, so he is pardoned
٦. ما شاهَدَت عَينايَ قَبلَكَ حاكِماً
يُعزى إِلى فِعلِ الجَميلِ فَيُعذَلُ
7. My lord, except you, a doubting, thankful poet composes
Who conceals and thus protects reproach from you, and carries
٧. مَولايَ دونَكَ نَظمَ شاكٍ شاكِرٍ
يُغضي فَيَحمي العَتبَ عَنكَ وَيَحمِلُ
8. And I delay your magnificent glory to ever assist me
An era, so you show the opposite of that and change
٨. وَأُجِلَّ مَجدَكَ أَن يَكونَ مُساعِدي
دَهراً فَتُبدي ضِدَّ ذاكَ وَتُبدِلُ
9. Except you, who would be content with despicable deeds
A friend complains of unfairness, so he puzzles
٩. فَسِواكَ مَن يَرضى بِفِعلِ دَنِيَّةٍ
يَشكو الصَديقَ مِنَ المِطالِ فَيَشكُلُ
