1. O master whose roots and branches have thrived
And whose lineages have been purified
١. يا مَليكاً قَد طابَ أَصلاً وَفَرعاً
وَزَكَت مِن أُصولِهِ الأَعراقُ
2. He who gathered virtues and forbearance
While wealth in his hands brought discord
٢. وَالَّذي جَمَّعَ الفَضائِلَ وَالحَم
دَ وَلِلمالَ في يَدَيهِ اِفتِراقُ
3. How much have you endured for seeking knowledge
A heavy burden, though easy for you to bear
٣. كَم تَحَمَّلتَ في طِلابِكَ لِلعَل
ياءِ ثِقلاً يَسيرُهُ لا يُطاقُ
4. Do not fret if palms denied you wealth
For in them is convening of the noble
٤. لا تَخَف إِن أَضاعَتِ المالَ كَفّا
كَ فَفيهِنَّ لِلعَلاءِ اِتِّفاقُ
5. It does no damage to a green branch
If its fruits and leaves begin to fade
٥. لا يَضُرُّ القَضيبَ وَهوَ نَضيرٌ
أَن تَزولَ الثَمارُ وَالأَوراقُ
