1. My state and yours are like the crescent moon and its sun
Since it illuminated it with its light in its rising
١. حالي وَحالُكَ كَالهِلالِ وَشَمسِهِ
مُذ أَكسَبَتهُ النورَ في إِشراقِهِ
2. So when my fortune is far from it, at its peak
And when it nears it, it is plunged in its setting
٢. فَإِذا نَأى عَنها حَظي بِكَمالِهِ
وَإِذا دَنا مِنها رُمي بِمَحاقِهِ
