3. O Hamzah the second, for whom
The firm mountains almost melted.

4. If your revenge is lost among the progeny of beauties,
Those beauties are all defects.

5. I did not cry in long grief out of flattery,
My grief for you is real events and wars.

6. So I will cry for you with swords and spears,
Until the weak and the strong perish.

As the dawn is night at Al-‘Ajaj,

14. And white appears in the bosom of Al-‘Ajaj,
While you were content to live untouched,

15. Neither angry nor dispossessed,
In a position for God, obeying Him,

16. And for the poor was their share.
The partisans will stir your revenge, O Hamzah’s son,

17. Nobles of the progeny of Al-‘Areeth, if they conquer one day,
They benefit the times however they fluctuate.

18. The countries heard of your death and trembled,
As truth and lies spread.

19. The difficult and submissive wept for your loss.
The beast and wolf complained of your absence.

20. The freed weep when the noblewomen mourn you,
And they grieve for you when separation appears.

21. The world was aggrieved by you, so there is no brightening of faces,
Nor is the chest of time spacious.

22. Since you, on the day of battle, in confronting the enemies,
Are events, and on the day of argument, an orator.

23. O sun of a horizon that before it
The sun in the bosom of Sa’eed had no setting.

24. If those beauties are blamed in the earth,
The remembrance of you in the countries circles around.

25. You seized praise with good deeds when dead,
So eulogizing you was not rebuke.

26. Rejoice, for you are immortalized by praise,
None is absent except your veiled person.

27. You lived alive and decayed, until your earth perfumed,
So its diffusion is fragrant and good.

28. Eyes of clouds will continue to weep for him,
For the lightning in their edges there is flame.

29. Tears attack him for the clouds,
So breasts are split for the pouring rain.
