1. When his cheek grew wrinkled, and I said to him,
"Every life in the end decays,"
١. لَمّا اِكتَسى خَدُّهُ وَقُلتُ لَهُ
كُلُ حَياةٍ عَقيبُها تَلَفُ
2. He looked at me with forgiving eyes,
And said, "He who leaves heirs never dies."
٢. رَأى أَخاهُ بِعَينِ مَعذِرَةٍ
وَقالَ ما ماتَ مَن لَهُ خَلَفُ
