17. A king who sees the toil of virtues as rest
And counts the rests of lazy ones as toils

18. With your virtues you make the seas seem shallow
And with resolves the seas seem scant warring

19. No land was devoid of your praise and if it lacked
Your mention it was filled with reedbeds and boats

20. Your gifts are hoped for and your power feared
Like time both peaceful and warring

21. So when you are generous you fill hearts with awe
And when you give freely you fill eyes with gifts

22. Like rain whose plenty sends a pouring rain
Generous and whose power sends a pelting hail

23. Like a lion guarding his thicket with his roar
At times and tearing at the fleece with claws

24. Like a sword showing to sights a bright blade
Smoothly and smiting in the melee striking

25. Like a torrent some praise its fresh water
Flowing and some call it punishing and flooding

26. Like the sea giving souls precious things
From it and showing to eyes wonders

27. So if you looked at the bounty of its hands you’d see
None but the successful or the success-giving

28. The potter left his children as inheritance
Jars of clay and they won praise profiting

29. A people when tired of sweeping to glory
Made dangers steeds and ships seafaring

30. They loved war inclining to meeting the foe
As if deeming foes to be loved ones

31. As if they thought swords were tavern friends
And spears vines and to the valiant brows

32. O mighty king and he of noble lineage
That trails upon the stars plaits

33. You reconciled the Muslims with resolve
That left foreigners in amity as kin

34. And you granted them days of security so who saw
A king to whom time grants gifts

35. So they saw a discourse that had been to them
Ruinous epistles before regrouping

36. And you guarded your kingdom from a stubborn rebel
With resolves that if united were boats

37. Until when the struggler snatched a snatch
You followed it with a piercing flame

38. Experimentation benefits not your adversary after
You destroyed those time destroyed experimenting

39. You scattered the group of the schismatics with a sword
You show it looted and it returns depriving

40. The dawn's clarity told of a frozen morn
Revealing languor in it a melting radiance

41. And a band making the neighing pillars
And the white lightning and clouds dense

42. Until when the wind of blades spoke to them
It rained so the pouring was striking arrows

43. With twisted plaits rending frames
And bare tresses rending spider veins

44. Treading on breasts from breasts as if
Trampling earth's soil in succession

45. So you remained dividing tasks among the beasts
There and making for the eagles banquets

46. And you made the towering vultures platforms
And carried out the sword's sentence speaking among them

47. O rider of great and perilous risk and his words
Are pride in your glory may the rider not be lost

48. You made dawns of bounty daybreaks
And made days of struggle disappearances

49. And you gave the praiser choice of creation
If it were for the sea its drink would be pure

50. So they saw you next to the delicate freely spending
And steadfast in your prayers and praying

51. If people guard delicacy with a brow
Bounty was to your eye a brow

52. They did not fill houses with wonders about you
Unless they filled houses with ruins

53. Oh would that before praise I had care
And you filled my eye with awe and gifts

54. And raised my worth among people though they saw
The like of me to the like of you praising and praised

55. In a session that equaled creations in dew
And kings were ranked in it by degrees

56. I came to him in the ship hurrying seated
Pride on one who came walking mounted

57. So I remained executing in time commands
From me and tearing into afflictions with claws

58. And the world on the day I came to him gave me
To drink and did not pour misfortunes on me

Satchels and filling from your bounty bags
