5. I yearn for a moon, craving his eyes and mouth
However plentiful his beauty, though his loyalty was scarce

6. The critic is tempted to blame him, if he finds fault in his loyalty
I have ended up intensely burning in the fire of passion

7. If my reproacher, who seduced me
When he saw me

8. In the heat of fire, why does he blame me
When love brandished its glances like swords

9. I reproached him more, though he had turned away
How gently he spoke without even meeting me

10. He conversed so sweetly after greeting me
If my beloved, when confiding in me,

From one with worries

12. Oh you by whose love I became a prisoner of love
Lost, bound for the paths of humiliation

13. By God, I see freeing myself from you is hard
If I attempted to turn away from this beauty

14. I would not be, if I were
Distant from companions, loving them

15. And sought to console myself
Have an excuse

16. If I became sick from loving none but you
Not desiring anyone else in creation but you

17. By God, I see ridding myself of your love is hard
I would be called among the people one of poor faith

18. Rather, by it, if I was
A worshipper of God the Greatest

19. If the Second turned me away
From what I hope for
