1. Since I turned away, I was certain that I am done with him
So my opponent deluded himself that he is the one who left

With scarce livelihood and lowered status

7. Whenever a lover sees him, he says gloating
What a fine morning O fallen one in ruins

8. As for me, when a friend turns disloyal, I leave him
And stay with a heart devoid of love for him

9. And I am not one who gives up dignity in love
Even if I yearn for the beloved with my soul and money

10. Moreover, I do not make humiliation a ladder
With which my soul climbs to achieve my hopes

11. And I have always been precious and honored in my love
Dragging the train of my gown over lovers
