1. I will withhold my answer, not out of stubbornness,
But the Lord of all forbids me to respond.
١. سَأُمسِكُ عَن جَوابِكَ لا لَعَيِّ
وَرَبُّ الأَمرِ مَمنوعُ الجَوابِ
2. And if I felt safe and spoke with justice,
I would see disaster easier than my speech.
٢. وَلَو أَنّي أَمِنتُ وَقُلتُ عَدلاً
رَأَيتُ الخَطبَ أَهوَنَ مِن خِطابي
