1. O you whose banner of glory has been raised
The enemies against us widened when you departed

2. And they set against us a circle of evil
Of torment, and if you do not push it back, it will widen

3. Weak ones, pliant save for lack of ability
Thus if an opportunity is allowed them, they widen

4. Verily the hearts filled with malice
If cut by the flames of fire would not go back

5. And how can you let infants thirst
Weaned from suckling after they had suckled

6. They smiled at you while morals frowned
Verily hearts were imprinted with hatred

7. They separated in bands from fear of your might
Until when they felt safe from your plots they gathered

8. And they feared violence from you, imminent
When you arrived, but since you gave them respite, they coveted

9. And they undertook matters they do not understand
Having neither comprehension nor knowledge of them
