1. O you of generous disposition
And son of the pure Imam

2. And brother of the exalted and sublime
And supporter, son of supporter

3. And granter of abundant rain
Upon plentiful pouring rain

4. And strengthener of the people of religion
With the pure Hanifi religion

5. And disgracer of the people of tyranny
With piercing spears

6. You are the pure, son of the pure
Son of the pure, son of the pure

7. O you whose opinion turns
The edges of piercing swords

8. You are the protector, the asked
For protection from the compelling time

9. Selling is not a trick from me
For seekers of abundant wealth

10. Do you think I came to you
With rare cunning

11. Be one who reproaches, for innocence
From calamity is like stumbling

12. The ungrateful one for the blessings
From his Lord is not like the grateful one

13. No! And the believer in his God
Is not like the disbeliever

14. No! And the one who forgets passion
Is not like the remembering lover

15. No! And the one who fell for fantasies
Is not like the sleepless gloomy one

16. O poet of the exalted, be
One with sympathy for the poet

17. The apparent state of my condition
Informs you about what my conscience hides

18. And similarly, the rest of my thoughts
Inform you about them, my outward self

19. So accept the excuses that
Came from me, and excuse me
