1. Peace be upon you, though we are far apart,
And deserts stand between us as barriers.

2. A thousand greetings and a thousand praises,
With fragrant musk as the final seal.

3. Thanks and praise that will never cease,
Enduring, not fading, such is its constancy.

4. Cordial affection we have for you,
Recalling joys that adolescence did allow.

5. It contains lines that shine as if
In the dark of night, with full moonlight.

6. And a bouquet that outshines the sun in radiance and joy,
We have composed it just for you.

7. We dedicate it to the virtuous, the genteel souls,
No old man nor youth excluded from them.

8. Upon you all, our praise and peace,
For you have been most kind and noble to us.

9. You were created as the best nation of mankind
Of the Arabs, neither Egypt nor Syria.

10. We have heard the accounts that you
Have appointed an Imam, yes, that Imam.

11. So aid him, fear Allah, listen to him,
And obey, for with the Imam lies bliss.

12. And altogether, do not divide,
Lest blame and dispute appear for you.

13. To aid the Imam of the Muslims is duty,
And to disobey him, for the compliant, forbidden.

14. Had we been nearby, we would have spared no effort,
But distance has parted homes and dwellings.

15. When we heard that you appointed
An Imam, we rejoiced, and that is an obligation.

16. Congratulations to you, O clan of Jerba,
For you are the pillars of the religion of the Lord of the Worlds.

17. You have might and strength in war,
And hardness of smiting, inherent to you.

18. You stand against the unjust,
Upon whom are rancors of withered envy.

19. And be, from Allah the Almighty, protected,
But do not transgress, for sins are monumental.

20. O sons of Musab, you are the people of knowledge and guidance,
And your ancestors were noble among the ancients.

21. Brandish the sword upon the enemies,
And do not let your swaying bring disgrace and blame.

22. Do not be cowardly, for bliss lies ahead,
Even if no old man or youth remains for you.

23. For you are, for those loyal, life and joy,
While for those hostile, you are piercing blades.

24. You stand for the clear truth, while your opponents
Stand for falsehood―I have evaluated that rabble.

25. Verily, the God of the Throne is with the God-conscious,
And with those who tirelessness does not afflict.

26. You owe nothing to Umayr and Amir
If you remain just in the wilderness they slept.

27. Give the orphans and poor their rights,
For Allah's poor cannot be wronged.

28. Do not one day grieve over what gives you life,
Nor rejoice over the fleeting―it is ruin.
