And the brother of clarity has wrapped himself in shrouds.

2. A mountain among mountains has fallen,
Its corners and pillars destroyed.

3. Neither is it the copious sea that has wearied of it,
The eloquence of this age has submitted to it in acquiescence.

4. It remains a key to every strange thing
Recited from relics and the Qur'an.

5. You have preoccupied our eyes and hearts
Since you fell ill and became frail.

ู…ูุฐู’ ู‡ูู…ุชูŽ ุจุงู„ู‡ู…ูŽู„ุงู†ู ูˆุงู„ุฎูู‚ูŽุงู†ู

6. And you have filled the hearts of men and their households
With worries, sorrows, and griefs.

7. You have come to dwell in a singular abode
Among neighbors of adjacent homelands.

8. If only they knew that your person is among them
They would rejoice in the elucidation you contain.

9. How wondrous is a grave that contains you in its niche
Yet strains to do so, as vast as your heart is.

10. Your separation makes every knowledgeable pen weep
Among the ascetics and monks altogether.

11. Since you are the mine of eloquence
And summarizer of the wonders of the Criterion.

ูˆู…ู„ุฎู‘ูุต ู„ุบุฑุงุฆุจู ุงู„ูุฑู‚ุงู†

12. And the life of knowledge has become blind after
There were two eyes beneath its forehead.

ูกูข. ูˆุบุฏูŽุง ู…ุญูŠู‘ุง ุงู„ุนู„ู…ู ุฃุนู…ู‰ ุจุนุฏู…ุง
ู‚ุฏ ูƒุงู†ูŽ ุชุญุช ุฌุจูŠู†ู‡ ุนูŠู†ุงู†ู

13. And the science of grammar has become deaf
After the greenery of its timber and branches.

ุจุนุฏ ุงุฎุถุฑุงุฑู ุงู„ุนูˆุฏู ูˆุงู„ุฃุบู’ุตุงู†ู

14. O you who has descended from luxury and wealth
To a limbo that has no second.

ูกูค. ูŠูŽุง ู†ูŽุงุฒู„ุงู‹ ุจุนุฏ ุงู„ุชู†ุนู…ู ูˆุงู„ุบู†ู‰
ููŠ ุจุฑุฒูŽุฎู ู…ุง ุนู†ุฏู‡ ู…ู† ุซุงู†ู

15. Before, you were indulged in the pleasures
Along with the station of the elite and intimate.

ู…ุน ุฑุชุจุฉ ุงู„ุฃุตุญุงุจู ูˆุงู„ุฎู„ุงู†ู

16. After you, will the world even taste good to them
When they are like a living head without a tongue?

17. If death would accept ransom, I would sacrifice
My wealth, children, and youths for you.

18. O you absent in body, your memory is present
As the foremost figure of the epochs.

19. Is there one more eloquent in the land than Muแธฅammad
The progeny of the Pristine, son of Imrฤn the Upright?

20. Calamities have assaulted him in droves
So the vicissitudes of fates have shrouded him.

21. Death does not turn back when it comes
Commanded by our Munificent Lord.

22. My brothers! Do not grieve, persevere,
And hold fast to the strong rope of the One so Grand.

23. Patience, for Allahโ€”Glorified is His Majestyโ€”has said
That over it are all those who perish and vanish.

24. The Face of you Lordโ€”High, Eternal and Munificentโ€”remains in truth
As well as His Grace and Nobility.

25. We were created for suffering and sorrow,
While weeping, grief and dirges are for women.

ูขูฅ. ุฅู†ุง ุฎู„ู‚ู†ุง ู„ู„ุชุตุจุฑู ูˆุงู„ุฃุณูŽู‰
ูˆุงู„ู†ูˆุญู ูˆุงู„ุฃุญุฒุงู†ู ู„ู„ู†ู‘ูุณู’ูˆูŽุงู†ู

26. O enemies! Do not rejoice at our affliction
Death is the destination for all creatures.

ูขูฆ. ุฃุนุฏุงุกูŽู†ุง ู„ุง ุชุดู…ุชูˆุง ุจู…ุตุงุจูู†ุง
ูุงู„ู…ูˆุช ู…ูˆุฑุฏ ุฌู…ู„ุฉู ุงู„ู‚ูุทู‘ูŽุงู†ู

27. We play while death lies in ambush,
It must come to us while we are unaware.

ูขูง. ุฅู†ุง ู„ู†ู„ู‡ูˆ ูˆุงู„ู…ู†ุงูŠุง ุดูุฑู‘ูŽุนูŒ
ู„ุง ุจุฏู‘ูŽ ุชุฃุชูŠู†ุง ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุบูŽููŽู„ุงู†ู

28. If you be reasonable, do not forget your death,
And recall the departure of your kith and kin.

ูขูจ. ุฅู† ูƒู†ุชูŽ ุฐุง ุนู‚ู„ู ูู„ุง ุชู†ุณูŽ ุงู„ู…ูู†ูŽู‰
ูˆุงุฐูƒุฑ ูุฑุงู‚ูŽ ุงู„ุฃู‡ู„ู ูˆุงู„ุณูƒู‘ูŽุงู†ู

29. Abandon your passions, for your life is fleeting,
And anticipate the occurrence of new events.

30. Before they deliver you to the Abode of Moldering
In the abyss of horrors and insects galore.

ูฃู . ู…ู† ู‚ุจู„ู ุฃู†ู ูŠู„ู‚ูˆูƒูŽ ููŠ ุจูŠุชู ุงู„ุจู„ู‰
ููŠ ุจุฑุฒุฎู ุงู„ุฃู‡ูˆุงู„ู ูˆุงู„ุฏูŠุฏุงู†ู

31. What will you say when you lie alone
In a constricting tomb where the two Angels arrive?

ูฃูก. ู…ุงุฐุง ุชู‚ูˆู„ู ุฅุฐุง ุญู„ู„ุชูŽ ุจูุจูŽู„ู’ู‚ูŽุนู
ูุฑุฏุงู‹ ุจู‡ ุฅู…ุง ุฃุชู‰ ุงู„ู…ูŽู„ูŽูƒุงู†ู

32. Namely, the Denier and the Questioner who, when
They approach to question you, will be very stern.

ูฃูข. ูˆู‡ู…ุง ุงู„ู†ูƒูŠุฑู ูˆู…ู†ูƒุฑูŒ ุญุชู‰ ุฅุฐุง
ู…ุง ุฃู‚ุตุฏุงูƒ ูˆุฃู‚ุจูŽู„ุง ูŠูŽุณูŽู„ุงูŽู†ู

33. If you be among the people of bliss, glad tidings!
For you is mercy, solace, and gardens.

ูฃูฃ. ุฅู† ูƒู†ุชูŽ ู…ู† ุฃู‡ู„ ุงู„ุณุนุงุฏุฉ ุจูุดู’ุฑุง
ูƒ ุจุฑุญู…ุฉู ูˆู…ุณุฑุฉู ูˆุฌู†ุงู†ู

34. As well as comfort, pleasure, sweetness
And care from our Lord and safety.

ูฃูค. ูˆุจุฑุงุญุฉู ูˆู„ุฐุงุฐุฉ ูˆุญู„ุงูˆุฉู
ูˆุจุฑุฃูุฉ ู…ู† ุฑุจู†ุง ูˆุฃู…ุงู†ู

35. But if you be among the people of misery, glad tidings!
For you are distress, humiliation, and disgrace.

ูฃูฅ. ุฃูˆ ูƒู†ุชูŽ ู…ู† ุฃู‡ู„ู ุงู„ุดู‚ุงูˆุฉ ุจุด
ุฑุงูƒ ุจุบุตุฉ ูˆู…ุฐู„ุฉู ูˆู‡ูŽูˆุงู†ู

36. As well as anguish, remorse, and regret
And abiding amid the searing Fires.

ูฃูฆ. ูˆุจููƒูุฑู’ุจุฉู ูˆุจุญุณุฑุฉู ูˆู†ุฏุงู…ุฉู
ูˆุฅู‚ุงู…ุฉู ููŠ ุฌูŽุงุญูู…ู ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽูŠุฑุงู†ู

37. Then, prayers upon the Prophet Muแธฅammad
The best of creation, sent from noble ฤ€dnan.

38. Blessings upon him lasting as long
As the horizons are dark or the two moons shine.
