1. O marketplace, if you were a person
I would roam the good parts of earth for you

2. For you have become a fortress and spring
And our neighborhood mosque, so near

3. O you garden that comforts hearts
And relieves those in distress of their worries

4. O how strangely beautiful you are
We are infatuated with you, o stranger

5. And he who looks at you with a thoughtful eye
Fears he may forget his beloved

6. O best of all places in every land
You have contained our praise and ancestry

7. Every wondrous statue is seen in you
And before you we see nothing wondrous

8. Your image resides in our thoughts
And if we are absent, you will not be

9. Free of faults, unlike other markets
Whose sides are full of flaws

10. For you are lofty and high
As if seeking the highest fortune

11. For you belong to Sultan bin Saif
Father of the Arabs, the magnificent, glorious prince

12. And you are a place of sustenance
Where goodness abounds, plentiful

13. In you is fruit of every color
Dry or fresh produce

14. And rivers flow constantly under you
We never see the like of you, ever

15. Oh if only our youth would return
That we may delight without fear of old age

16. He who comes to you aged regains his vigor
As if seeing a long lifetime before him

17. And he who visits you often will not grow old
Your distance causes children to grey

18. The near and the far love you
As if love of you has aged all

19. No rival interferes with your visitors
And all are wary of the watchman

20. You were built in one thousand eight hundred and ninety six
Live long, with the nineties, o fortress

21. In the time of our Imam, the noble lord
Of the Arabs, descendant of the venerable Sultan

22. The Imam of Muslims you have remained eternal
Never tasting misfortunes throughout the days

23. Your stars never ceased rising
Nor have they ever set

24. Time has not parted you
Your sun never saw sunset
